Well, there is always the alternative... Have another round of DPC Olympics instead....
Personally, I find I participate more when there are things like the DPL and Olympics going on. As far as scores dropping, I don't really see mine doing it so much. This is an entirely subjective observation, as I have not done the math. But, the scores feel a little higher. Which is likely due to my trying harder. I must admit that scores do not mean a lot to me. (IF they did, I would have quit long ago...) If anything I care more about where I finish. I'd rather be in the top 25% of 400 entries, than in the top 25% of 40 entries. Most of all, I like to capture something that I like. |

Ok its been a week odd since I last mentioned the DPL... still no news from SC /  langdon yet...
Ps - been in touch with Manny Librodo and he says: "I will submit in DPC again if there is a League. :)"
I think its time we get some of the very talented old members back here again. |

well, since i wasn't able to find an answer anywhere else... i enjoyed the DPL last year (1st time), and it was neat being on a team with people all over the world.
my question... how does the DPL calculate each team member's Seed Average? is it the average of ALL challenges you have ever entered, or average over a certain interval? although i have had some great finishes over the past year, i have also had my share of stinkers... hence my seed is pretty much the same as last year.

| Before the last DPL I was on a pace of having my least amount of challenges entered. Looks like I'm on that pace again. I shoot and enter for fun and not so much for score but when I'm shooting for my team I step it up and really get back into the site. It's so much fun! I'm really missing my team mates. Hey Pirates I think we need Langdon to walk the plank if we don't have another round soon....Lol. Hope you all are doing well!!! |

Because clogging up the front page with outdated DPL threads is annoying, and is not exactly a "friendly" approach to getting your way (plural "you" -- I see there are several participants)) ...
Not that I really have anything to do with or have any control over getting a DPL season running, but this tactic would make me less, not more, inclined to move things along -- the one bitch nag thread is more than enough for me to look at every day. |

Awww... C'mon man... What other recourse do we have??? I started the thread, so shouldn't I be allowed to bump it? :) Since I have you here, perhaps you can answer a question for me. Is there some reason why another DPL league hasn't been started? I'm just curious, I mean, is it extra work for the S.C. or something. I'm just trying to figure out why another league hasn't started. I would completely understand if it was more work for the S.C. and more effort needed to be put in. I'm just wondering if there is something that we (the little people) don't know, as to why another league hasn't started...
***editing to say that I did not realize that all those other DPL threads were being bumped, if you look at the time I bumped this, it was 10 minutes before the others were bumped, Bumping all these threads is wicked lame and disrespectful to users on this site. I was simply bumping the thread I started, and was NOT trying to inspire others to bump all the other threads... My apologies...

I think there is a "Suspend User" button somewhere in there as well.... ;-). I dunno if they all get to push it at once, but I have seen it done. Fortunately they have a reasonable amount of patience.

If I was going to lock threads, this is the one I would leave open, since it is actually reasonably current and has a sensible topic, if people could stick to it.
A DPL season involves significant "discussion" to work out any potential problems before starting, I'm sure a bunch of special coding by Langdon, and extra monitoring during the competition. Since we never actually meet, and are often on-line one or two at a time in different time zones and for different amounts of time, a thorough "discussion" can easily -- though doesn't usually -- take weeks ... :-( |

Yeah, in hindsight, I didn't think people would go bumping all the threads... I never inspire people, figures when I do something like that happens. Ironically I bumped this one cause I posted it originally and thought it was still relevant. Anyway...
Thanks for your response as to why there hasn't been another DPL. I kinda figured that was the reason. It seems to me that it would take allot of planning and would be a considerable amount of work for the S.C. Perhaps an Administrative Announcement that explained that would calm people down, I think many on here feel that the DPL is being largely ignored by the powers that be.
