We can make up our own right? I had an interesting idea last night, and I kinda want to try it.

It's probably been done by some group, somewhere =P

Maybe, I've never seen anything like it, but yeah, there aren't many original ideas left. lol.

In expert editing, can we take two different shot and combine them? Like merging two animals?

Yep. Like they say, a camel is a horse put together by a committee. :-)

From the Expert Editing rules:

You may:

use any feature of your camera while photographing your entry.
combine multiple photographs to produce your entry. All additional photographs must be taken by you after the challenge is announced with a digital camera that records EXIF data.
use images that do not meet the source or date requirements as textures in your entry if they function specifically as textures and not to circumvent other rules.
apply a full range of editing tools to all or part of your entry.
use layers, layer masks, and alternative layer modes.
add a border to the outside edge of your entry.
use RAW conversion software.
request removal of your own entry during the voting period IF none of your last 25 entries were disqualified or removed, and no rules were violated.
include images that are clearly recognizable as existing artwork when photographing your entry. Images that could be mistaken for real objects in the scene may also be included, but must not be so prominent that voters are basically judging a photo of a photo.

A 'perfect 10' is a mythical creature. Bo Derek came close, though, according to some people. You could do what fashion magazine editors do, & combine perfect body parts together for a perfect 10. Might be fun.

cool!

I thought

combine multiple photographs to produce your entry. All additional photographs must be taken by you after the challenge is announced with a digital camera that records EXIF data.

was only to cover many pictures of the same shot, like for HRD.

Nope, HDR is legal in Advanced. There's an "X shots of the same scene" clause in Advanced...

Ooh yes, definitely! Provided it was taken within the challenge dates, etc etc...

I do believe that would work in Expert Editing

My first thought was of the Cottingley Fairies

Captured on camera for the first time. Maybe not mythical but certainly unusual and bizarre. From today's BBC News.

In pictures: New sea creatures found on Barrier Reef:

Amazing.

Hope we don't see a lot of angels here... many won't see them as "mythical" (since they are actually real)

Would a Greek God be considered a mythical creature? They are mythical... they are creatures... I'm not seeing them on any of the lists though.

No, but a Greek god would.

They are part of "Mythology" by Edith Hamilton, so yeah...

I don't want to be picky - but I'm kinda guessing that any made up creature whether based on something acknowledged by mythology or something just created for the challenge would cover this off.

Such as this fine example

That's wonderful! I certainly think it would fit!

QUESTION::::::

Ok So I have a brilliant idea for this challenge... at least I think its brilliant and I know it will be fun! LOL but anyway I want to make sure its legal before I spend hours working on it... Ive never done expert editing... read the rules... and basically there doesn't seem to be many LOL

My question is if I take 4 separate images (all taken on same day all within challenge time frame) am I allowed to combine them into one image?
