You sure you aren't leaving your entry's link in the comments by mistake? ;-);-)

ETA: Of course that was a joke. Please don't ever do that it's illegal:-)

:P as if I would leave a negative comment! ;)

Nothing wrong with negative comments.. Just be sure that you make it clear that it's only how you feel about the image..

wish i had a few comments-- but thats the way the cookie crumbles

I haven't commented much, I feel I am too new to comment. Maybe I should give it a go?

You'll learn a lot by commenting..

Yes please do.. I think the most important thing to understand is that if you don't feel that you understand the technicals, just talk about how the image affects you... Do you like the way the image "feels" to you? If not, why?

Your opinion has great value, as your eye is fresh, and this is all new to you... Almost all of our comments come from people who have made 1,000 - 15,000 comments.. Now, those are great comments, why? Because that person is usually fairly well informed, and their advice is usually spot on... However, the comments that are from a new user are also lots of fun, for two reasons, one is that they are often much like watching a kid open Christmas presents, ohh and ahh and WOW! It seems that sadly, many of us seem to quickly get quite jaded as to the WOW factor around here... And, secondly, this is the more important reason, you can tell us how our images strike a new user / voter. It's always good to have the opinions from both sides of the fence...

So go ahead, comment! I'd love to hear from you..

I started to comment and my score went down!

The two, I promise, are unrelated. I can, however, tell you that if you keep commenting, you'll learn a ton, and as a result your scores will go up in the long term. Take at least 30 seconds (and it should be more, unless there's just nothing going on in the shot), and really consider what's happening, what they photographer was thinking/experiencing/trying to convey...

So yeah, don't worry about it. You will improve from this exercise.. Oh, and ignore the PM's... Some people will disagree with you.. That's cool, don't worry about it, they're usually by far in the minority.. I rarely get anything that's less than polite.

So have fun with this, if you need inspiration, go look at the Chronicles of Grog.. We like Yo_Spiff and his silly Grog alter ego.. You can clearly develop your own style, and as you can see, we welcome ALL comments... :)

Grog's ears ringing. Cory-bone spreads word of the greatness of grog. Corey-bone is good teller-of-Grog's-greatness. May sit in warm part of cave tonight, near females. (But not touch or Ooga slap Cory-bone-head!)

Grog doing well in two-things challenge.

Will abstain from dancing for 10s!

I dance by shifting my weight from foot to foot in a periodic manner.
We can dance if we want to!
