Wow, you all have sure got far more harsh on me. How's this?

Ya'all are dicks! Try that on for size eh! WOO HOO!!!!!

Damn straight I'm fun to watch, hence the name Wildfire!
Oh, and I might be just a little delusional, but then again, the most notable characters throughout history usually are at one point in their lives in one way or another. You all will read about me one day, and I'm not referring to the public safety log! MWA HA HA HA!!!
(I just spent the day doing more of what I like to do rather than what a challenge tells me, and I feel much better now)

Entaro Adun! :D

Where is the ignore button again?
06/03/2010 03:30:02 PM · #53
It's that little button with the outline of a strutting cock on it.

You know, entering challenges is *optional*; you do realize that, right? And the challenge format is a very specific game with specific, arbitrary rules.

Kinda like tennis; you have to hit the ball back before it bounces twice, right? Entirely arbitrary, but it's a RULE. When you enter an organized tennis tournament, you agree to play by those rules. You might be the best 2-bounce player in the history of the world, but it's irrelevant in a 1-bounce game.

It's just like that here. If you find the rules too restrictive, then dazzle us with your art outside of the challenges.

R.

Isn't this exactly what John Wayne Gacy said?

You may be on to something here Wildfire!

I cannot speak for masses. But I will tell you this. No matter whether you have won a challenge or not, I will honor you by adding one/more of your pictures to my favorites list. So far, I don't see any. None that matches ' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/15000-19999/16241/120/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_741229.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_portfolio/15000-19999/16241/120/Copyrighted_Image_Reuse_Prohibited_741229.jpg', '/') + 1) . Unfortunately these types of threads are becoming more and more familiar on DPC. Usually, it's a newbie who wants to "change the rules", sometimes it's banned folks who reincarnate over and over (a rose by any other name who shall not be named), and sometimes it's just a place to vent because of what folks are experiencing in the world or their own personal life. As my father told me many times as a kid "life isn't fair - you should learn that now". NOW, go shoot something!!!!!!

WOAH! With all this crazy talk on here you shouldn't be telling people to go shoot anything! We don't want to start giving people the wrong idea! How about we say, "NOW, go photograph something!!!!!!"

Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, Charles Manson, George W Bush.

I agree, the list is endless.

This thread has everything... delusions of talent and self-importance, a walk-off followed immediately by a walk-back-on, swipes at the right... if DPC had a "Like" feature à la FaceBook, I'd be all over it.

You know, we could all learn a little something about sportsmanship and responsibility from Armando Galarraga and Jim Joyce ... I can't remember where I first read/heard these two "rules for living" but I've found them useful in the context of DPC:
1. Don't sweat the small stuff.
2. It's all small stuff.

Watching is no fun - its the taking part that counts.

Armando Galarraga's joyous expression as he got the out, and then his rueful smile and small shake of his head as his perfect game was stolen from him, was one of those moments that make watching sports worthwhile. His grace and poise were a thing to behold.

Some of us liked John McEnroe. ;-)

Thank you for bringing these words in. Looking at this thread's origin, I almost thought they were long forgotten:-)

... or Ilie Nastase ... but is that who you yourself would want to emulate should you be in the position of having something taken away from you? Bart Simpson has some great lines, but I think that most of us here have -- and should be expected to have -- outgrown the fourth-grade ethos ...

Agreed, but where would the entertainment come from if we didn't have people like this. ;-)
