OK. I know that we've done candid, self portraits, and people, but... I think that taking good portraits can be challenging, and it is something that lots of photographers need practice with. It's also one way that amateurs can try to actually make some money off of this.
You have a camera? Would you mind taking some pictures of my kids, your nephews, me? If this hasn't happened to you yet ... it probably will.
This would also be an opportunity for those who want to do a self portrait.

My husband carrys pictures of my girls everywhere and show everyone. One lady ask him if I could take their family christmas picture this year. Wow! I thought. The photography places here want an arm and a leg or they are so cheap that the photo turns out really bad. So I have thought about taking her family picture. Just need to read up on it for poses and all. I think it would be a great challenge.

Soni,
I believe I'm the one your husband talked about with the family portrait. I'm nore than willing to be a "test subject" for you. You have ALOT of talent. I saw the picture of "flower girl" and told your husband that you should submit it cuz you are extremely talented. Just let him know the when, etc and I'd be more than happy to oblige.

Does anyone know of a sight where we could get some ideas on how to pose and lighting your subjects? I haven't got a clue as where to begin.
