Okay, we're officially stumped on this. So if there are any PHP/HTML gurus out there who want to give it a try...

The problem is that when using Opera 10.10, the euro symbol � doesn't appear properly in posts. You get either HTML code, or random characters.

This issue can be worked around at the Opera end by right clicking the page, Edit Site Preference... and selecting 'Encoding Group = Western', Encoding = windows-1252

So, given the above, I thought that putting in the page's would fix it (it's there at the moment, if you want to view page source) - But, it doesn't. We also tried utf-8, to no avail.

This could have something to do with the

itself, or maybe with the way the PHP writes the post to the database.

<br>What's happening is that every time I type the euro symbol, it's posting as jumbled text or HTML (using opera)
<br>
<br>IE or Firefox take a guess at the character encoding when it's not specified on the page, but in Opera things are stricter. It's better to specify the encoding in the page anyway without letting the browser over-ride it.</td></tr></table></td></tr>
