Maybe you can make a mountain out of a molehill ... (kind of like this thread?)

Celebrate fall and the colors that come with it.

Doesn't say leaves.....

That would indicte to me that you could probably put in a hayride w/pumpkins, cornshocks, a Thanksgiving feast.

Of course, the DNMC Police might slap you around, but.....

What part of "foliage" allows for other-than-leaves?

Foliage by Free Online Dictionary

1.a. Plant leaves, especially tree leaves, considered as a group.
1.b. A cluster of leaves.
2. An ornamental representation of leaves, stems, and flowers, especially in architecture.

Plant leaves, especially tree leaves, considered as a group. I would say that sums it up for me on the foliage part. Would be nice to be able to do the corn and stuff but foliage it is.

I would like to say this will be my first Photo challenge. I like this just because I live in IL. and the leaves are very pretty at this time. I do hate to see when there are challenges that my area is not good for like anything to do with the mountains or the ocean but I guess we have to make do with what we have and Have fun with what we got. If there is something I can't shoot in my neck of the woods then I guess I will catch the next challenge.

Because they wanted us to photograph autumn leaves for this challenge? It's quite specific, after all...

Now, that's a healthy attitude :-) Perfectly matches mine, as well...

Does this mean that you're willing to see that challenges cannot possibly be all things to all people?........8>)

I'd like to point out that even here in Calgary we aren't going to get the nicest shots. The leaves didn't turn color. They just kinda went black/brown and died with the frost. And that's in the cases where the wind and ice didn't just shred them. Lovely.

Yes, it did! Once before, in May of 1971.

Fortunately, the doctors were able to remove most of the nail from that head.

Just my opinion but I think when they ran the Mars Surface Challenge, followed by the Northern Kenya Challenge immediately backed by the Lesbian Golden Retriever Challenge, people got a little bunched up. Even the "out of the boxers" were a bit miffed.

And now this? I'm just sayin...

"what about the out of the briefs" crowd?
They had their chance with the nude challenge.
Oh and I left out the South Side Of Somalia Challenge. The audacity! I mean...what were they thinking?

Unless you live in a barren desert and don't have any houseplants, you can find foliage. Those who live in areas of peak color might have an edge, but then so do those with beautiful models for a portrait challenge, scenic beaches for a sunset challenge, unique buildings in an architecture challenge, zoos for an animal challenge, an appropriate culture for holiday challenges, or willing subjects for a nude challenge. As with any of these, you may accept the challenge or choose not to enter. At least Icelandic tundra isn't an advantage this time. ;-P
