From what I understand about eyefetch.com is and I'm quoting this

....the actual owner of the site has done very little to the site in the past few years. He had volunteer admins helping him and they took care of running it so it really wasn't that much work for him. But he was very busy and the site was always just a hobby for him. What is sad is that he could have given the site to someone else to run ...The owner gave up on it a few years ago. It was my favorite site until people started abusing the Hall of Fame marking just about any photo about any subject a 10++++++

Completely off topic as I don't go to Eyefetch, but where at in South East Missouri are you located?

It could be the case that they're moving servers and the new IP addresses haven't propagated to everyone yet. Or it could be that there's some other issue with the server or routers.

Can anyone provide an IP address?

When I pinged eyefetch.com it showed this IP address: 75.126.56.2

I'm able to ping that address. And I'm getting the 'blog not found' webpage there. But I still can't see the main site. I suspect there are either problems with DNS records or DNS changes which haven't propagated for some people.

However, when I paste it in a browser I don't get the main eyefetch.com web site. Instead I get what appears to be a custom error page on their site that reads "Blog cannot be found!".

Please tell me how you "pinged" Eyefetch?

Louis

In Windows:

Go to Start > Run
Then type in "cmd" without the quotes and hit ok
That brings up a DOS window
Now type in "Ping eyefetch.com" again without the quotes and hit enter. If you are able to ping the site then you should get a few lines that appear saying "Reply from" and with the time it took to reach it. If it doesn't work then it'll say "unreachable".

ETA: Glad it worked!

After pinging it I was then able to load the site. Prior to that it hadn't been working in Firefox, IE or Google Chrome, which I just recently installed and have never used to visit eye fetch before.

Not working for me - 'address not found' - Firefox (3.0.12)

EyeFetch worked for me both in Firefox 3.0.12 and IE8.

Try clearing out your cache and re-connect again.

Could be a firewall issue. FWIW, it's not working for me either.

I have used Firefox, IE and Chrome and still cannot bring up the site? Any idea as to how/why I as an individual cannot access the site? Would you please provide me with a location link? Oh, I used the test site you attached it also did not pull up EF.

Thanks,
Louis

Either the site is back up and working now, or it's just you:

July 28, 2009 (date inserted to differentiate this message from prior such threads)

Once again, I seek information regarding the status of Eyefetch.com. EF users became accustomed to the abrupt site going offline for maintenance issues. This time it seems to be more serious in that we are receiving "Server Not Found". Even the BetaEyefetch.com side entrance is not accessible. Since EF has been basically on autopilot with only the moderators administering the site many of us have feared that one day the owner might just suddenly pull the plug. I hope that day has not arrived.

I would appreciate any insight into the latest EF drama and would especially like to hear from dual DPC/EF members like myself. It would be extremely helpful to receive insider contact information for EF's administration/owner or from those "in the know".

Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Louis Patrick
