Whew. Told his own tale. I wasn't aware of this song, it would be a challenge to portray in a photo.
"Childhood" Written and composed by Michael Jackson.

michael jackson, lyrics, history Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for the world that I
Come from
'Cause I've been looking around
In the lost and found of my heart...
No one understands me
They view it as such strange eccentricities...
'Cause I keep kidding around
Like a child, but pardon me...
People say I'm not okay
'Cause I love such elementary things...
It's been my fate to compensate, for the
Childhood
I've never known...

Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder in my youth
Like pirates and adventurous dreams,
Of conquest and kings on the throne...

Before you judge me, try hard to love me,
Look within your heart then ask,
Have you seen my Childhood?

People say I'm strange that way
'Cause I love such elementary things,
It's been my fate to compensate,
for the Childhood I've never known...

Have you seen my Childhood?
I'm searching for that wonder in my youth
Like fantastical stories to share
The dreams I would dare, watch me fly...

Before you judge me, try hard to love me.
The painful youth I've had

Have you seen my Childhood.

No worries, I wasn't really bugged. And for the record I had trouble spotting the link in my own post. Cheers,

I really thought he was in worse health than that. I would not have bought a ticket, but I bet a zillion others would have.

Well now that would be a tricky thing to pull off since B+W is not the same as B OR W..what would a white photo look like? Similarly what would a Black photo look like?...

But seriously - the content/subject will speak louder than whether or not it's a B+W in this challenge... methinks.

My main request is that people don't cop out and use "Black or White" as an avenue into making this into a free study B&W challenge.. not sure if anyone else feels the same way, but I think that's a bit too easy!

You're right, the latter may not be a lifestyle choice and they choices he made were questionable to say the least. Proclaiming someone to be a "Pedophile" is a choice you made. A bigoted choice I might add.

When you pay off your accusers it is very suspicious. When you have multiple accusations it is even more suspicious. Money and power allowed him the opportunity to circumvent the legal system that would have easily brought him under sever scrutiny of his lifestyle choices. It is not natural to want to have sleep overs with young children. In fact it is the definition of Pedophilia. Convicted or not he was engaged in un-healthy relationships with children that caused him to go nuts. No other person would get a free pass on this. No other person would get a pass for holding their baby over a ledge. Only MJ because he was a rich star.

"According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), pedophilia is specified as a form of paraphilia in which a person either has acted on intense sexual urges towards children, or experiences recurrent sexual urges towards and fantasies about children that cause distress or interpersonal difficulty."

Nobody condones the "accusations" that were made toward him as palatable. Are YOU certain there were sexual urges or are YOU certain that is what you believe?

Blatantly accusing someone of something the "may not" have done is prejudicial and suspicious. Had the defendants foregone the settlement and proven something, the financial reward would have been much higher and the sentence decisive. Would it have not?

We have no idea what transpired as that is sealed with his death and the unwillingness of the defendant to have pushed due process while he was alive. Remember they all agreed upon settlement and therefore circumvented the chance we may know the truth. It is not a question of right or wrong but rather the willingness of all parties to come up with a price. That's what it boiled down to. A price for what?? They are all guilty to an extent and innocent at the same time. That's the way settlements work.

We have to accept that and refrain from making rigid judgment spurred by media influenced banter. After all, Harrison Ford and Jeff Goldblum are dead too as well we all have learned.

The proclamation that he is a "Pedophile" is unsubstantiated and purely rhetoric ..... at this point. That may change, or it may not.

But he sure could dance. ;-)

I'm expecting a few entries to skewer him, not honor him.

What can we do for Farrah?

Yeh, poor Farrah. Her battle was so much worthier and helpful to all those who are facing cancer. I think we should have a victory challenge to honor Farrah. Victory over adversity. She did not live but left a legacy and words of hope and a sense that you don't give up even when the odds are against you. No she did not beat the odds, but perhaps we can have a challenge that shows the hope of beating the odds, whether it be a little guy playing with brutes in football or the last one coming in first.

I think the picture alone is enough to never worship him. That one photo removes all doubt that he should be an idol. Seeing is believing we don't need to know anything else. Any other person would be in jail for that photo and would have no access to children and would be looked upon as a criminal of the worst sort. Not MJ because he could moon walk. That photo says 1001 words.

And again, people who don't have a leg to stand on throw insults and misrepresent a valid point.

Yep no leg to stand on...

Wine to kids.

"On January 25, 1994, Michael Jackson settled the civil lawsuit paying an undisclosed amount to his accuser. Many believe that he paid between 15 and 20 million dollars. After receiving the settlement, the boy refused to testify in any criminal matters. Therefore, the prosecution was not able to pursue a criminal case. "

If it were anybody else we would have put them in jail. Only Jackson could do the things he did and still be honored on DPC.

This sort of naivety is frightening and symptomatic of the bigoted resolve so many are eager to embrace when they do not know the truth. This is why we have a legal system and why we must trust the process. We have to otherwise there would be a spree of rampant lynchings carried out by a whole bunch of rednecks eager to levy their narrow minded interpretation of justice.

We do not know what happened with the kids and we ALL agree that hurting children is wrong. Do I need to repeat that again so I do not get accused of the same thing based upon a narrow minded conclusion?

The man was disturbed and I cannot see anyone wanting his existence. The parents were idiots for allowing their children to be in an environment that would allow for the unsupervised intimate co-mingling with a troubled adult, or any adult come to think of it. That is wrong and dumb. On both sides.

He was also dumb for not having the foresight to see that things can turn rather ugly when kids are involved. Maybe not so much the kids but rather the parents of the kids. We all know that.

Whether or not he did something that would be deemed illegal in a court of law is uncertain. It was deemed to be illegal in public opinion for apparent reasons and maybe he just wanted the accusations to go away. Even if he was proven innocent through numerous trials, he'd still be guilty in the public eye. That's just the way it works when it comes to matters such as this.

This challenge is not a celebration of a pedophile but as one of the most brilliant musical minds of the recent era.

He was a musical genius, that has been proven.

That said, stick with the facts and learn that we all need to be vigilant when it comes to our children. Vigilant and not rabid.
