They are good and you never know who would want one....I just found a used frame with a 8x10 picture of a bird house it looks as if it could be a stock photo but then dont know.....People like prints for any number of reasons .....decorating, gifts, posters, postcards,
maybe even target practice....those would be my photos...:)

Thank you VERY much for the kind comments! I am currently working on updating my prints. I am going to add several more options, maybe this will help increase my chances. Thank you! ;D

Wished my Husband had not sold my favorite guitar it was a cheap acoustic though and since I am still rarely playing......well a photo of it would of went good with this song.....
The guitar had the stars and stripes red, white and blue.....over the wood stain (clear) ...
Or the lyrics could go with the pictures of the photographer who lost her job....sad-silent-song-of-a-soldier

Phil Ochs was a pretty well-known topical songwriter from the early 1960s until he sadly committed suicide in 1976. Some of his songs are available
here, although I just found the site and haven't checked it out myself yet :)

The song I mentioned is about the police riot which took place during the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, which was followed by the trial of the Chicago 7, anti-war protests, and eventually (I think) leading to Watergate.

Ok help me out here please which album??Phil

My dad has always sang a song even now and then I hear him whistle, I like to try to remeber some of the lyrics...much less trying to figure out who sang it....And if this is the same artist....the song has got to be around the same time.. lol I was in the crib listening to this stuff...
Lyrics I remeber....
ANd its 1, 2 ,3 4 what are we fighting for,
were going to vietnam.....
and its 5,6,7,8 open up the pearly gates,
Dont ask me I dont give a damn..

I don't think I have ever heard of Phil Ochs. That purple is the normal color. We have those flowers at our Southern California zoos as well. :)

Is that the flower's normal color?

One of the biggest advantages of paid membership is the Portfolio space, allowing you to easily post thumbnail links to your photos in the forums, and to collect comments on the photo page here.

Print-selling is a bonus -- it costs you nothing more than the time to prepare, upload, and set prices.

In the US, you would normally claim incidental print sales under "other income," but if you are making a bona fide attempt to sell photos as a profit-making business (you might make up some promotional materials, submit to search engines, etc.), you could then file a Schedule C (Business, Sole Proprietorship) and deduct not only your DPC membership, but possibly your ISP fees, batteries, CD-R media, etc. -- set up actual bookkeeping and get a separate checking account for best results. I skip the "home office" deduction as the rules are too strict, but for most of the other stuff you just have to keep receipts.

If you have room for more prints, sure! Otherwise, I would consider the flower, but not the hooven mammal. It's cute, but unless you love those particular animals, you may not want a photograph of it, even though it is a very nice photo. The flower is quite nice. Were you hanging out at the San Diego Zoo?

Yes, I am Dutch, but currently living in Denmark.

And I consider myself an honest guy, but not so honest that I will report my few dollar income (13 USD so far) to the tax authorities. I will use it just to pay my membership fee.

Once I start to earn big amounts I might reconsider .... anyone wants to force me into that position ????

Perhaps you can write off the membership fee as a business expense, if you sell a print. I don't know. I need to look into that too! I am a member here, but it's purely to become a better photographer (enter more challenges and get more critiques). The ability to sell my prints is a bonus.

Hehe, which is why I didnt say enough to cover my membership fees :P

I've counted (very) quickly the ones who posted here and the ones who posted here AND sold pictures..the chance of selling a print is somewhat 60% or 70%..though I do believe that the ones having sold will slightly more be attracted to post here..(don't they?). I'm willing to make some little money, but the membership also costs money and I don't even know how it all works with paying taxes when you sold a print..anyone her from the Netherlands who've already sold something and payed taxes (I've got questions like: do you have to have a tax-number and give the information to the IRS, because this is actually a form of income)?? Is it still that attractive to sell prints here, after paying membership fee and paying taxes and given the fact that one runs the risk of selling absolutely nothing???
Besides the possiblity to sell prints I find the membership attractive because of the challenges and the possibility to learn a lot! But I can run challenges for free elsewhere and learn a lot too, that's why I'm having so much questions on the print-selling!!

Yeah, this is the first site I've paid for to. And more than worth it.

I haven't sold any prints yet, but I only have a few (like 5), so not a huge selection, not lots of sizes, not lots of time. so (to a certain degree) = not a lot of sales

yeah i agree
i haven't ever joined a website before.. but this one is super great.
it isn't expensive.. and provides a lot of entertainment and learning...
two thumbs up

Congrats on your move-up BruB. This was the first site I ever paid for a membership (other than my website host, if that counts). But, it's totally worth it! I love the challenges and the learning that goes on in these forums!

I am also hoping to sell some prints soon!

Can't imagine that it would be, after initially putting my photos in I had a huuuuge stretch where I didn't look at it at all, but the IP address is there all the same. I also think it may be different than mine, I'll give it a look though.
