Yes, I read your message after I had posted in this thread. I have replied to you too. I hope your advice will help. I will try it at my home PC, because Windows Vista on my office PC is not compatible with the Acrobat version 6.0.
I think that you should post the contents of your message in this thread also, so that it is useful for others too.

Not sure if this is your issue or not, but when I print to a .pdf from Word, some fonts are not embedded. To overcome this (using Acrobat Standard 8 - not sure if other versions work the same way?) I go to Tools/Advanced Editing/Touch-up Text Tool.
I then select the text in question (you may have to select all the text to find the unembedded font - for me it usually is some bold, italic or similar text causing the issue), right click on the selected text, choose "properties" and then check "Embed" in the properties window (if "Embed" is already selected, then you haven't selected text with the missing font...). It's a bit of a pain in the arse selecting the text, but it works to embed fonts after the fact in Acrobat.

| SOME fonts cannot be embedded at all, it's a matter of licensing (mostly those fonts that aren't available for free). If you're speaking of headline fonts, you need to convert the headline into an image, either with vector editing software like illustrator or with photoshop and than place it inort your word doc. |

No, you can embed fonts in 6.0; I am still using it. It's one of the advnaced sewttings when you specify parameters for PDF creation.

I have tried setting of parameters in Control Panel > Printers > Printing Preferences > Advanced > ?? .
It does not show any parameters for Fonts. Where am I going wrong? |

No, you can embed fonts in 6.0; I am still using it. It's one of the advnaced sewttings when you specify parameters for PDF creation.

| What are you using to create the PDF? If you have a full version of adobe acrobat, there are settings for Acrobat Distiller to tell it what to put in or exclude. Fonts is one of those. I have Acrobat 8 at work and can tell you where it is in that application, if that will help. |

I have been uploading a no. of e-Books on sites such as lulu.com. Most of the times, I make a MS word file (with images) and upload. When the file size is large, say 200 MB or more, it takes a lot of time to upload. If I convert to file to PDF which is usually much smaller, the error shows that some of the FONTS are not embedded in the pdf.
How do I embed Fonts in PDF?
I am using Windows Vista. |
