My apologies for posting the picture. I thought it might not matter since I did not have anything in the challenge.

The site was down and said that challenges would be extended another day for entries so I missed getting mine posted for this challenge between work and a computer issue (since solved). ...
I guess I will have to work on the next challenge.

I am with you on that prediction.

Assuming he enters, otherwise both our wallets are a little lighter. :)

I agree. At least I am in....don't know if the voters will like it though!

Well I am in....I love the shot so that means it will not fair so well:-) Oh well, I had fun and captured a total of what I feel is 3 best ones out of three days of shooting:-) Another bene it also took my mind off of being frustrated at being ill for the better part of two weeks.

Looking forward to seeing other photographers 'vision'. Good Luck to all who enter.

But it'll be interesting to see what others found :)

Take a flashlight, use a slow exposure and do some painting with light.

I've got the entry that I truly love........I'm already putting the finishing touches on the BIG enlargement.

We'll just have to see how it fares after rollover and the voting starts......8>)

You still need to know your audience and don't give them an excuse to not like what you are trying to do. This one has the potential to be boring to vote on (although there were a lot of interesting shots in the first one) so I hope to try to stand out a little bit. We shall see what the voters think.

I've been playing around with some more creative editing techniques and it's not meeting with much success, score wise but, I'm enjoying attempting different avenues even though it may not jive with DPC's standard winning stuff.

Besides, at this time of the year, finding a single tree that is of any interest, piled with snow and ice, while having fingers fall off due to frost bite, shivering while trying to get the settings right and take out tissues from pockets at the same time....well....let's just say that the warm climate photographers are going to have the advantage at this particular challenge. :)

ETA: I wonder if I took a shot of my "coat tree", standing alone in the front hall where it's warm could be shoehorned in? ;-)

Nearly all the top 50 were over 6 so a high scoring challenge ....

That's because the challenge was in 2006 when people still knew that 7,8,9 and 10 still existed!

Yeah, I was going to say that this was some nearly 2.5 years ago now and the entries from Single Tree I certainly wouldn't hold up in today's DPC.

"Take a photo where a single tree is the main subject". My actual entry will be nothing like this of course- this is just here for discussion purposes.

I would imagine this would be OK, the single tree is the main subject, the other ones are background elements. Mind you, while it certainly meets challenge, there's bound to be some voters out there who take the "there's more than one tree, there should only be one tree, you have too many trees, DMNC", type attitude. What can you do!

Hunt them down and kill them? j/k

Hehe I had that idea too. I bet somebody gets their tree out again, decorates it and submits it.
