| You could also get some interesting forward facing shots using a window mount with a ball head on it to get the angle. I was trying this out the other night but obviously the time of night was not nice for taking the same style. Got some fun videos though. |

| I am impressed. This is a really cool idea. I wonder what it would look like if it was applied to something like a dirt bike or maybe a four wheeler. |

Just try without the tripod/ducktape and hold it in your hand. Below is a shot wich i made last weekend. Shot with my EOS-300D with standard kit lens (55mm) whilst still holding it in my hand. Also at 1/10sec
First few shots were terrible but it is amazing how fast you learn to pan at exactly the same speed as your subject. I found this to be even because you'll only know the results when you load it onto your computer!
Edit: forget to say it is not cropped for 'educational purposes', just to see how it will come out of the camera..

I hope it is o.k. to link these images here, for further inspiration. I am not claiming that they were based on this tutorial or copies of my idea, I just think they are very good examples and hope it inspires others to invent variations. I personally especially like the skateboard one. And as stated in the tutorial, this technique was not my idea anyway, I saw similar pictures at photosig and in the Practical Photography magazine, tried it myself and then wrote the "how'd they do that" on it.

Very nicely done, Willem! It is amazing what a little bravery and duct tape will do! (Oh--and good knowledge of photography).

Cool, cool, cool. My camera would fall off though. It reminds me of the shot I saw one time where the photog duct taped the camera to his head and took a shot of swinging his daughter around in a circle!

Just to be sure : My suggestion is to attach the tripod and camera to the rocking chair. DO NOT ATTACH THE ROCKING CHAIR TO THE CAR !!! (LOL).

cool..way cool
I used to put a helmet cam under the licens plate bracket of my BMW and had it connected to my cam corder so I record as I was driving, got some great footage in the mountains in west texas. I got the idea from that video called "getaway in stolkhome" that was going around a few years ago.
I wanted to do this during an AutoX event, but never had the time, then I sold the BMW. I still have the helmet cam, but no real use for it now
