If you visit each city page from the main photowalk page, you can get to each of the flickr streams for each walk. There a BUNCH of awesome pictures there. It's going to be hard for me to choose a winner from my group, I can already tell.

Here's my own favorite submission -- I didn't get to take a lot of shots, since I was trying to herd cats ;) but I got a few good ones --

Glad to hear you had a good time! Here's one of the best ones I got . I didn't see any horses either :)

Actually, there were several in New York City. Two of them had the maximum 50 spaces filled, and the other one -- the one meeting in Chinatown -- had 48 of 50 filled, but as I was filling out the registration space I realized I had missed it!

Signed up a while ago for this and went on the Vancouver, BC walk this morning. I had to leave early but it was fun...

Then for you, it should be a PhotoRUN! RUUUUUUUN! :P

I'm putting together the final pieces for mine -- finally got a banquet room and projector for our dinner, and I'll be demoing LR2 and some other goodies.

Going to be HOT today -- 107+ most likely, but since mine is in the evening, hopefully folks will be able to cool down and stay in the shade as the sun goes down.

Anyone else in the Phoenix area is still welcome to join us -- "just show up!"

Photo walk day, anyone from Philadelphia PA, going to be there. I decided to make my walk a back to basics walk just taking my 50mm and a tripod. Hope to meet some of you there

Is his last name...

Gumb? Bundy? Berkowitz? Clinton?

If not, you should be fine. :)

LOL!! I didn't mean worried like that. I'm worried that it will be a waste of time. I can go to the same park, that he set up as a meeting place, any time and take pictures. I was looking forward to learning some new things from other people. Oh well, maybe he'll turn out to be the Mr. Miyagi of photography and I'll learn tons of stuff! :)

lens on. lens off. lens on. lens off. you done for today.

Or call you Clarisse and ask you to bring some Fava Beans and a nice Chianti!

Could you refresh my memory. I can't remember what the gang sign looked like.

Admittedly, it's complicated. I broke 3 knuckles last year doing it. Best to buy the video "Muzzy teaches DPC Gang Signs!"

DPCers should group up in those cities and photograph the photogs on the photo walk.

Be sure to wear your colors and remember the DPC gang sign so we can identify each other. :P

Its not as easy to sign up as you would think. Scott is currently turning down people who want to lead a group. Not because there are other walks in the area, but because he is too overwhelmed with responses.I wonder what he expected? Anyway they are limiting the number of people to each walk, and they are turning down people who want to lead groups. Doesnt seem like much of a worldwide photo walk, when you dont let it happen worldwide. :D

Yup, I just found out about this yesterday. I'm pretty dumbfounded myself. You've summed it up very well with your comments above. Wish I could offer something useful to say, but without their logistical support, it'll be hard to schedule and start a walk of your own, unless you just take it upon yourself to advertise and contact folks, etc.

Or, more succinctly, Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Sounds good to me! All you (or someone) need(s) to do is sign up as a group leader!

This effort is completely community-based -- pretty-much whoever takes the time to sign up and ask to lead a walk can do so. It's not like there is someone dolling(sp?) out sites to organize walks around -- it's just up to whoever says they want to do it. (There is an approval process where a human-being reviews your application for sanity, etc., but I don't think it's terribly hard to get approved for a walk.

Which brings up another great idea -- if the walks near you are full -- click on the "become a walk leader" link and start one of your own! :P

You should get an automated verification message. Once your email is verified, you are on "the list," and your group leader will have your name and email address -- they should contact you (probably as a group-email; I wouldn't expect a lot of individual messages because of the group size) just to let you know what's going on. If you don't hear from them close to the 23rd, drop them a message yourself (there is a link on the city page to contact the group leader).

If in doubt, and you have enough info on when and where to meet on the city page, "just show up."
