Quick cropping and minimal processing - no finesse here. Would have liked to perfect exposures and learned to use the TIFF capacity in the FZ5 - maybe next year! You don't have to comment - these are just follow-ups for woodpeckerites.

Wow; quite the difference in detail from your first capture, huh? Really special captures; thanks for posting the update!

Heron pictures: the first with the FZ10, in May, and the second with FZ5 last Monday.

Thank you Prism! Montage is winter work I think. Right now it's herons and hummingbirds on the wing - rather too much on the wing.

What a great series! Thanks for the follow up. I have been waiting to see what you managed to capture. I think you could make a really interesting montage out of these ones. If you do something along those lines, I hope you will post it for us to share. Nice work!

Hey, sorry to dump these all at once. It's raining again, so it's been the only long enough break from the flood that I've had to post these. I hope you guys can give me some good pointers, especially on the deer pic. Some people have asked for a copy of that particular pic, but I think with a few editing tips it could look a whole lot better.

So, here's a whole ton of images- joined after it had ended and am now caught up!

Also, all of these photos were taken at 200mm, per the rules of the side challenge June @ ??mm.
I'll get caught up on comments in the next couple days here, hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday night.

No, no; you're not alone. I can keep going with zoo pictures for quite awhile :-)

Not on your own, I have every intention ... (We are finally getting decent seasonal weather, and it seems a crime to worry myself at my pictures on the computer, even at night when my head is still filled with the day's gardening).

I guess I'm so used to it flooding that I can still find time to snap a few pictures! :)

It seems to be little bird week.
I don't have much time this month, but will be happy to share a few current wildlife shots as they come along, and will try to make some comments for everyone.
The little dove is still doing all right, and is in a box with a warming light tonight. We plan to turn him over to the local animal rehab tomorrow.

This thread clearly wants to take on a life of its own ;-))) A week wasn't long enough to live.

There are lots of folks shooting wildlife (did I mention I was at the zoo today? I have LOTS more new shots!) and this is a convenient place to post them and get comments from fellow wildlife lovers. So ... why not? I'm happy to keep an eye out for new shots that need comments whenever they may appear.

If you're wondering about waning participation, I would be interested in joining on board for this one. I had already been participating in the June @ ??mm side challenge and thought I might not have enough time for two, but given that my shots would work for both anyway I would definitely be willing to join in on this one late (after HA) if there are still some folks interested in posting for the rest of the month.

Don't know how much of a contribution I'll be able to make over the next while but I would love to see this thread continue. It's been inspirational seeing all these wonderful shots and receiving comments on some of mine.
