Wow! Pretty amazing what nature can do, great job capturing it. Hope everybody managed to get to a safe place during all that. It's also sad to think of the loss of irreplaceable items a person collects over a lifetime like photo albums, videos of your baby's first steps, family heirlooms, etc, that can be lost forever.

Thank you very much. Yes, the randomness is amazing. The building right next to the shopping center only had some scrapes on the bricks, a little bit of roof damage and some damage to the entry way. Yet the majority of the small trees and bushes in the parking area remained unscathed. From the reports it seems that the tornado bounced up and down several times as it cut through the city.

"Out and About" seems appropriate for Tornadoes. ;-)

Excellent pics, Kristen! I saw lots of video of the devastation - terribly sad. But the random selectiveness of a tornado's destruction is intriguing.

As a lot of people probably already know, on Monday afternoon, tornadoes touched down in a few places in southern Virginia. The worst hit the city of Suffolk, and today my dad and I went out to see the devastation. It is simply amazing the power that weather holds. Here are a few pictures from the day.
