what do you mean by "flat"? I didn't edit the last two, just resized them.

thank you very much for pointing that out, I didn't even realize it!

My favorite were the 2 that you have posted, the facial expressions in 1 and 4 were throwing me off.
Your second choice has a hard shadow from her nose on her cheek and looks slightly more awkward, so I choose "copy2offave3". That said I'd still try and recover as much detail from the right half as I could in PP.
All around nice, I like the use of many angles, next time try and soften up the light a little.

Hi David... it really depends on what you are going to do with the pic. None of them stands out more than the others - without knowing what you're looking for. Is it for a website, her MySpace, a CD, etc ?

That said:
#1 says "tough rocker chick in a band"
#2 says "mellow, pretty girl playing a ballad"
#3 says "Alanis Morissette"
#4 says "skilled thrasher metal guitarist doing lightning-fast scales"

Ofcourse... that's just what they say to me.

The harsh highlight bother me on all of these. What was your lighting? Some gentle natural light from a window, with a reflector if needed, might be a better way to light this subject.

Note that your image numbers, and your number schemes are opposite (i.e. image #1 is Copyofffave4). I'll be referring to the image number, not it's name.

I think image #3 is too blown out and unflattering.
Image #2 has a pleasant cordialness to it.
Image #1 has the best composition (I think) with the angled of the shot.
Image #4 has a similar angle without quite the same dynamic due to the guitar being straight and also cut off.

All of that said ... I think #1 would have been my favorite, if it were for the fact that it, too, is a bit "blown" in the highlights. That leaves #2, for me, as the most pleasant to look at. Here I think the girl is both pretty and relaxed and you get a sense of what is going on.
