Ya know, I thought that $40 for one polarizing filter was a bit steep. That's what the guy at the camera store quoted me. He was Mr. Personality too. I suppose that's where they make their money... on accessories... kind of like BestBuy and the like. One 6 foot network cable is $20 there and you can get it online for about $3.

Not quite... but I did find the answer I was looking for here.

Which says:

"You can only use the bulb mode with a remote control with the E-500 (for exposures longer than 60sec and up to 8 min)). I've bought the Olympus RM-1 for about $25 and it works great! You press "W" to open the shutter and then "T" to close the shutter whenever you're ready (up to 8 minutes exposure). I recommend it, it's very useful and not just for the bulb mode. It's only $22 at Amazon."

Thanks for your replies! :) Do you or anyone for that matter use specific filters or have any thoughts about the ones I listed in the ebay link from the first post?

the camera has its built in option of 0sec. 2sec, and 12sec i believe that can be used with, and you set up your camera manually or auto on how you want it to shoot, i dont know if that aqnswers your question or not

Does that remote (or any for that matter) allow for shooting with bulb beyond 60 seconds?

I am wanting to get some filters and a remote for my camera...

Are there preferred brands? Will something like this from eBay work just fine. Ebay also has several remotes... has anyone used these? Or, what do you use?

Thanks!
