If you want to do more research, it's called "tethered shooting". On the PC the Canon EOS utility does it with "lesser" cameras. I'm not sure about the 1D series or Macs, but googling "Mac mkII tethered" should lead to some results.

i'm just guessing that the cd that came with the mark includes both apple and pc versions.

im renting this camera so i doubt they'd be including it if it was a disk that came w/ the camera.

i didn't know if there was some downloadable mac software for it or not.

i've been searching and have come up with nothing.

I think that some company makes a CF card slot wireless unit that does that same job without the tether. Anyone else remember seeing it on a thread? They were supposed to produce a Mac version of it sometime by now too. Google "Wireless CF Card"

i'm just guessing that the cd that came with the mark includes both apple and pc versions. since i use a pc and can't readily get my hands on my cd, i really can't tell you for sure. i do know that shooting tethered rocks, especially when you can't afford to wait to see if you got the shot.
