i feel that i am gradually basing more and more of my opinion on creativity. Of course, technical abitilty is going to be a big part always, but i don't have much mercy for something that i feel doesn't have any creativity, it is just as bad as an image that is VERY blown out, or very blurry.

the pic I uploaded actually isn't one of those 'noisey' examples. However, I've been resizing the way everybody mentioned [it's standard right?] is there a way to reduce the look of compression when downsizing? That's the only problem I'm really having..I usually only resize for DPC and for the web, and I don't want either to be grainy.

Good luck everyone. |

in photoshop, goto Image: image size and put the bigger number at 640, goto file: save as, and save it as a jpeg, a quality minumum of 5 is my rule(no noise there even) |

The fact you have a lot of noise is probably why you can't upload a very big file. Noise adds a lot to the size of the file. The 150kb limit is still the same but with a noisey photo you will probably have to compress more.

Gold, I usually resize in save for web, in PS Elements 2. That does the trick. Resize to 640 on your longest side. |

Question for all who entered a challenge recently: I just uploaded a pic for Silence and the only size that would fit the requirements ended up being small. I did it the way I've always, has something changed? Other than that, I get alot of noise when resizing as well, other than just picking 'resize' how can you combat compression?

I cloned out some hot pixels on my image for silence, then realized it was illegal. It's easy to forget, especially something like that - it's not really doctoring the photo, IMHO.

You don't realize, you know, until you go looking, how rare mimes are in Newfoundland, in the middle of the frikken winter. Maybe I'll move to Paris. c'est la vie.
