I took these the other day while snowshoeing on my lunch break. I was about 10 feet away from the bird... it was just amazing. Second to seeing a shark while snorkeling, this was the most impressive animal I've ever seen. I think the one with the bird looking at the camera is a little over sharpened, but all in all, it was a cool site to see, and the pics turned out OK.

Yes, lovely shots and the second? talk about framing a shot! that branch really sets it off. A lunchtime walk? you are very lucky to work where you do.

Very very nice Jackson, looks like a redtail Hawk is my guess. Beauty picture. I passed an owl perched in a tree overlooking a field this morning on the way to work! I sure wished I had my camera with me. Great job
Neil

This was the best I could do last weekend, I will just fly away so as not to be upstaged!! Even Kostas buddys make a nice light snack!LOL

You can actually see the blood red on his "lips" on the first shot. Nice catch.
Did you see the bird/prey shot in the conflict challenge?

Don't you just wish that the National Geographic Challenge was still on?

Well done.

Tremendous photographs, Jackson. I envy you having these in your portfolio. When really hungry, these hawks will tackle anything somewhat smaller than themselves.
