On one of the photos I was voting on it showed the comments, number of votes and the average score. What was going on with it. that is the only one I saw.

ugh.. I'm on the fence about whether I should pull my picture out or not.. Mine is going to be the one with the most comments questioning its validity as a picture.. purists and non-purist alike are so going to hate it..

After 2 hours of pointing my camera on seagulls, standing on a frozen lake hoping they will do something... nothing happened, they are boring and dull - they just stood there, my hands started freezing so I decided to give up on them. Headed to another place and found more common birds .. well I had to enter something, even at the cost of being trashed by the voters!

So I live in the desert where all the birds are desert colored and you can't see them. I didn't have time to go to the zoo, and we don't have big spectacular birds, such as herons.
I had the bright idea of going to PetsMart to shoot some photos of their captive birds. when I arrived, I eked out a pretty cockatiel - or something along those lines. The conditions were perfect ,but then I got stupid and asked for permission.
Note to self: do first, apologize later. I could have probably shot a billion photos with nobody saying anything, but I thought I'd be on the up and up and ASK. And they said NO. pff
I went outside and shot some crows in a tree - against the rainy sky - it's raining for a change - but I can't possibly submit those because they are vastly inferior to anything that will be submitted in this challenge.

| I took an otherwise lifeless, colorless photo and processed it to the max the rules will allow. My wife loved it. But then again she’s my wife. I’m anxious to see how it does here. I can see it going either way. I think a few will love it while others will bash it for being over processed. Will wait to see I guess. |

| Got mine out my front window. It was around 21 outside, so it wasn't horribly cold. Nice and convenient, but without the backdrop of snow like last week, the birds lack that nice plain white background that everybody loves to vote high on around here. Oh well, the shot is at least creative. |
