It didn't give me credit for any of my votes. =( It did say I voted/commented on 20%, but I never got a chance to vote on the rest of the images, so for some reason, I fell short.

Stats: You have rated 501 of 501 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 356 images (71%) in this challenge.

Didn't quite make 100%. Hopefully my comments were somewhat helpful, even if some were kind of repetitive towards the end. There's only so many ways you can say the same thing.

Thanks for posting this challenge. It helped pull me out my first DQ depression. :-)

This was difficult. I've never made 100 comments in a challenge before. But I am done.

I agree that it's very hard to see things in your own photos sometimes. I obviously like what I post but I have a better understanding of why it doesn't appeal to anyone else. I did get some useful suggestions that I will try with the editing, but for the most part, the shot was done for a specific reason (to give to someone) and it fulfilled that goal - just not a good DPC challenge entry!

Well I have benifited both ways, commenting and with the number of comments I have received. My photo is in the 5. plus mediocre range I would normally hope to get maybe 3 comments I have 14 ATM and they have all been great. I like constructive comments that tell me what they dislike etc I find it amazing the things I miss when I'm editing.

Thanks, Node :-)

I don't know if I'll make it to 100%. I feel like I'm repeating myself alot lately in what I say. Here's where I'm at right now...

Time to call it a night and listen to my neighbor's party upstairs and outside. Added: maybe I should go join them - I might come up with something for the searching challenge. Lol

I am finding that by doing this, I am having to identify why I do or don't like an entry. (sometimes it's tough to put my finger on it.) I think it will help to improve my own work. Sometimes i can't put my finger on any specifics regarding an entry, so I will sometimes leave a comment about the impressions that I got from the photo, or what I thought was going on. I hope those are not seen as being too flip or casual.

I got a nice PM from another member that my comment had let her know why her entry in another challenge was not doing as well as she expected.

I may just do it this way from now on. I won't try to vote on all of the entries, but I will attempt to comment on all or most of the ones that I do vote on. I think it is more productive.

Woohoo, I did it! Thanks for the great challenge Deb, it was really nice to receive so many helpful comments. Hopefully mine were helpful as well. So, thank you Jedusi, Ivory, EyeTrap, timfythetoo, and eyewave for all of your comments. =)

I often will do an initial voting and then go back and adjust my 7s and higher. Some get a bump up, others stay where they are. I never bump down. I dont often rate a 9 or 10 on the first run through but bump up from the 8 range and will move 7s up as well. I think alot of people vote and then come back and "rack and stack".

What Timfy says . . I always go through first and put the shots into large pools of roughly where I think they will end up , but I also want to go back and have a really good luck at what has made the first cut and see whether to move it up or not. Sometimes I will see a top score immediately and mark it accordingly, but usually I want to go back and see whats there. I can level them against each other and ensure that all my 5's, 6's or whatever are of a similar standard.

again I rarely move shot's downwards.

I just rate the images and let the scores be what they are -- that way a 7.0 in one challenge is subjectively "equal" to a 7.0 in another.

Yay - I'm there - now I can go and look at the others.

You have rated 98 of 501 images (20%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 107 of 501 images (21%) in this challenge.

This has certainly been a challenging experience having to comment on what's given to you instead of the ones you want. Hopefully it's been good for the people receiving the comments.

Now I just have to go back and adjust the scores into their fianl order. Some great great shots out there though.
