Oh, I absolutely LOVE the lighting on this one. I still have no idea how you get the lighting like this. I must figure out how to do it though because this is my favorite kind of photo.

I would have liked to use this one, but it's from 2003, lol.

Which I may have cropped differently, but still like better than the one I used.

I'm glad I didn't go w/ either of my "Portrait of a Summer's Day" choices - since I would have been slammed for using a landscape, lol.

you should have entered one of them, both are beautiful photos, and who gives a **** what a few people complained about as far as subjects goes. Shoot for your self not the complainers ;)

I was going to enter this one, but it seems lots of people do not like photos of children in challenges. Then I see one with a child ribboned, and it was so pretty. Makes me wish I would have entered it despite the complaints.

4 out of 6 DQ's were for text. You may be right about ones who dont enter very often and who suddenly saw a challenge they liked.

There was like 3? Not too many. Everybody and their gramma has done Natural Light Portraits, I'd assume this challenge just brought a few people out of the woodworks that didn't bother to read the rules. I'd also bet that if SC did more validations that quite a few more would suffer DQ from date violations.

On a different note, I am amazed at the amount of DQ's due to text being added. This is such a basic rule!! Are the people who have done this new?? I haven't been with DPC that long but that was one rule that was easy to remember.
