Yeah I have 550 views... Crazy... not the greastest score, I think its mainly because of only 93 entry's in the challenge. and its refreshing to not go through 500 pics for just one challenge....and congrats Wildcard, that HAS to ribbon.... I have heard this challenge is not scoring great because everyone hates Expert Editing and hates this challenge. So a 7.2 in my eyes has a blue....But I had really fun with this challenge...

Thanks but I don't think so there's better entries than mine in there they're just keeping mum. I might make top 5...maybe.

If 7.2 doesn't ribbon in a 93 entry challenge with expert editing rules (which not everybody likes)...I'll post my "eating my shorts" picture again!

I'm still hanging around 7.2 it goes a little over, a little under...it'll definitely be a personal best by a long way :D

6.4 is good, 13 comments is good and a Fav is great.
Happy with the way this one is going so far.

"Traditional rules of composition still apply..."
.
What in the heck does that mean. Hummmmm Sci Fi means; not real artifical, make believe, fantacy. Traditional rules??? I'm definately not one of the masters, but many of the great masters of all times where their painting are now worth millions never followed "tradition". Come-on, traditions, rules of thirds, etc etc are NOT always the best and in many situations detracts from an otherwise good piece of art. Sci Fi is not Traditional in it's own definition. Don't ya'll get tired of comments that have no meaning and comments without what they feel is wrong. What part of the traditional rules does this "newby" feel is absolutely wrong. Oh well, I'm still laughing .... and ya Mr Tradition, when you read this go ahead and change your vote to a 1 .... I deserve it ;)

Aestically, I really like the entries in this challenge. They're imaginative, innovative, and out of the box. They're interesting to look at....ponder...wonder how the heck they were done. Let's face it, they're just darn COOL! :)

But....(there's always a but!)....I have a hard time distinguishing them as photographic. I entered (and yeah, my score reflects a lack of photoshop skills), thinking I could use some set-up, some creativity, but clearly still a photograph. I used some editing tools to enhance...but I didn't add images, distort images, or make a digital art composition. Clearly, due to my low score, people/voters were looking for the digital manipulation "wow" that I couldn't deliver....and didn't want to deliver, necessarily. I want to improve as a photographer, not a graphic artist. I enjoy DPC and will continue to challenge myself photographically. But, I fear this will be the last time that I enter an "expert" editing challenge - I really believe this type of work belongs in a stand-alone category...."Digital Art" perhaps..."Graphic Art" perhaps. Maybe I'm an old fashion girl, but I'll stick with what I love about photography....capturing a realistic moment that you want to revisit again and again.

Soapbox over....Congrats to the masters of the challenge style. I admire your work.
