Not only did I get the key, they tasked me with remodeling the space to make it more luxurious and welcoming for the new, leaner SC. IT was never just a washroom, and soon it will be even less so. Wait until they see the KITCHEN I am building for us!

Yes, thank you Site Council Members for selflessly volunteering your time to help out the DPC Community!

Without them who would be there to blame?

So a big thank you for the broad shoulders and thick skins you had to develop to put up with us.

I'm just now seeing this.

And now... I'm... thinking... thinking... thinking... *coming off of a week-long DQ suspension*... thinking...

THINKING...

I also give my thanks to Site Council. I think this is one of the most amazing photography sites out there, and site council definitely plays a big part.

THANKS!

Has it really been almost seven years since we've had a "Fan Appreciation Day/Month" for Site Council?

Reading some of these early posts is like a nice reunion all over again.

Meanwhile, thanks to those on the current Council (most of whom are veterans of the Site) for all you do.

You do realize that the obvious acronym for this is DPC SCAM, right?

As mesmerised as they understandably are by the beauty and heat of the jacuzzi, the SC (one of them, anyway) took the time out to send me a very pleasant and understanding note about my pending dq. I shall hold it next to my heart right after I tear it out.
Seriously though, that was nicely done, thanks, guys n gals.

Yes. I can see why you'd like that one. Seems a bit staged...hmmm. :-P

Cute! :-D

One of my favorite photos is this one ==> , by scalvert. I also appreciate Shannon's level-headed responses to forum situations that would fray the nerves of many. You can also count on him to add a touch of humor to lighten the mood and lift up the spirits of many not only in forum situations, but also in his photography.

Overall I think the SC do a tremendous job with the wide array of issues that come up in this global photography community known as DPChallenge.

It may not be June 2007 anymore, but the flavor of this thread certainly is overdue for a revisit.

"Motivation is everything. You can do the work of two people, but you can't be two people. Instead, you have to inspire the next guy down the line and get him to inspire his people. " - By Lee Iacocca

I guess this pretty much hold true for the SC, I am on this site for long now and I seeing the activities by SC and they are pretty responsive to the problem and provide solutions. This does not only hold true for the problem and solutions but also to the suggestions. I remember I contacted scalvert for some questions and he respond back to me quickly. Though they might not be getting out anything by doing this from here but help is really what they provide to everyone. I appreciate all of there help to everyone!!!!

Again:

"In a completely rational society, the best of us (SCs) would be teachers and the rest of us would have to settle for something less, because passing civilization along from one generation to the next ought to be the highest honor and the highest responsibility anyone could have."

Thanks everyone for your hard work and effort!!!

As a relative newcomer, I wanted to says "Thanks" to the Site Council. A ton of work goes into this site, just in keeping up with the maintenance stuff. It takes a dedicated group of people to do what they do, and it makes the experience (other than poor scores) enjoyable.

Jeffrey--don't worry, you can pay off my new camera in installments starting with your next credit card statement.

Thanks to all for the positive karma and well wishes in this thread.

I just want to express my appreciation to ClubJuggle, who took time during the DC GTG to show several of us all of the SC secrets. Who knew he could look up credit card #s, Social Security numbers, and even the latest lottery tickets bought by each member? Now we know how SC funds its gear!

Oops. Forgot to mention how much I still love this shot, even after looking at it many times since I joined a year ago:

Just wanted to make public my appreciation for the Site Council. You guys are always quick to respond to any concerns and questions. Plus it's fun to watch ya'll drop your wrath upon hate-mongers in the threads :)

Thanks Konador for your commitment to the DPC community! One of the hotshot "twenty-something" crowd in DPC. Here's his lowest and highest scoring photo, and then one I've just added to my favs:

Lowest: scored 4.4808

Highest: scored 7.2642 and won the blue ribbon

A new Fav: cathedral

...ok, I went through scalvert's portfolio and only found one (his stuff generally sucks ya know). This was from a couple years ago, but it is the very first pic that I added to my fav's and I would add it again if I could.

I like most everything in Sher's portfolio, but I really like her bridge collection, especially this one that looks like something somebody named Billy Joe would jump off:

Neil Shapiro is probably my favorite outdoor/nature type photographer and I have a print of this one in my office:

Aside from Karmat's current profile pic, my favorite of hers I stumbled on tonight and am adding it to my fav's because it is very well done, but also because I can relate to the message and the meaning behind it:

In smite of what people may think, MK's portfolio is actually very enjoyable to look through. I like most everything in this collection and I like this one as well:

It reminds me of a village I once traveled through. ;-)

I perused Manic's folio briefly and just wanted to make the comment that London must be trying to compensate for something with this building:

And from one of the newest SC members, L2, I like these two which I believe were taken at a local baby catching competition:

...next time try to capture one in mid-air. ;-)

That's all I had time for - just want to add my muchos gratzi to the SC for all they do and all they endure doing it. :)
