Just a couple of questions. I've never done one of these before.

So we post our daily photos in our portfolios, then provide a thumbnail link in the 30 Days of Ordinary Objects - June 2007 thread, right?

Comments are made directly to each photo, but if we have general comments, playful banter, discussion, etc., is it okay to post those in the main thread, too?

Larry,

Welcome!

To answer your questions: yes, yes, and yes :P

Looking forward to seeing some of your ordinary objects!

Best,

Rob

Okay, all, posting thread is here.

Can someone with the power to do so lock this one up so it doesn't get all confusing? I'm easily confused . . .

/edit/ Don't forget; please don't post before the thing officially starts, okay? I don't mind if I don't have the first post (I won't, I'm in the UK, and I won't be up in time to shoot and post first), but I'd really like it to be "started" in June. Thanks :) \edit\

Best,

Rob

I think I'll give this one a try. And with any luck, I won't be taking 30 or 50 shots to get the right one. I do that way too often!

I remember shooting like 50+ a day just to get the one that I was going to put in on some of the 30 day challenges.

Thanks for that Rob :)

Hi Marigold,

You posted while I was writing last night and I missed your message! Sorry about that.

People handle the "30 day" thing differently. I generally call each shot "Day 1 - [title]." Others just use the title, but put the day in the thread when it's posted for the group. Others use just the day. Others have either started late or gotten behind, have no idea what day they're on and say so :)

Here are two thirty day side challenges:

30 Day Where You Live Challenge

30 Days in Black and White Challenge

If you have a minute to take a quick look at the threads, you'll see people are over the place, and that's fine. If you click through to some of the shots, you'll see that people handle things differently in their portfolios, too. Most people create a subdirectory within their portfolio that has the title of the challenge, and put their images in that folder, which makes them easier to find and keeps them together if you're looking for them in the future.

I hope this helps. Keep in mind there really aren't rules here; like I said, this challenge has some guidelines, but that's it!

Post will come later tonight. Should be good fun!

Best,

Rob

I'm in! I need the practice!

OK, I think I will try too. I will probably do the different item each day.

I would like to do this! I will take a different object everyday.

Editing rules are up to you, but it's within the spirit of the challenge to share tips and processing with the other participants (again, more of a guideline than a rule). The only other "guideline" is the idea that each shot is taken on the day it is posted.

We'll start June 1, and you are welcome to join, leave, complete, not complete, whatever, as the spirit moves you.

I'll take Strand 1 for 30, Rob. :-)

I've never participated in one of these 30 challenge things so I think I'll jump into this one. I too might not be able to hit all 30 days, but I'll do my best. I plan to do #1. (Shooting a different ordinary object each day, or at least most days)

Can't wait to start...I'm really looking forward to this.

Thanks Rob for the open invitation, and hi to Sherpet and everyone else!

Count me in. Right now I am thinking about concentrating on everything found in my craft room. I'll try to narrow it down to having to do with sewing/quilting. But if inspiration fails I'll go on to the other "joys" in my life housed in the craft room.

Sounds good to me! That's what occurred to me when Sherpet first suggested the same object for all thirty days, but I'm going to shoot something different each day.

Everything I've heard so far sounds great; and Kelly (or anyone else, for that matter), just join in when you can! We'll be glad to have you!

Best,

Rob

I'm in. Going to do one of those kitchen objects for a month.

It looks like this is definitely going to have enough participants to have its own thread. Yay! I'm glad people are interested and excited by this.

Just to remind everyone, it starts June 1, and it'll go to the end of the month. I'll post the "posting" thread the night of May 31, but no posting until "rollover" on the official DPC server clock, okay?

I'm going to enjoy this! Thanks for joining, everyone!

Best,

Rob
