Florida Keys GTG - DPChallenge Forums

Here is an idea that came my way.

I'll keep all of the updated news in this post to keep it easier to find.

Idea 1...

This idea is for a week long trip leaving Miami in the afternoon which would allow enough time in the morning for people to arrive. Then drive to the keys and split the keys into three parts of two days/nights each...upper, middle, and lower keys. The lower keys could be covered between the overnight in the middle keys (around Marathon maybe) and the two nights in Key West. The seventh day would be to drive back which can take the whole day if we want to retake some shots on the way back, otherwise it's about a 4 1/2 hour drive back to Miami.

I'm in! Wouldn't miss it for anything! We still thinking about early fall?

For those not in the know, the idea we discussed in St. Augustine is to meet up in Miami and spend a couple of days driving down to Key West while making photo stops along the way. :)

Well, if we're still talking about late September, I'll try to clear my calendar. Is this going to be a weekend thing, or perhaps a week long road trip?

I hope I would be able to make this one. I grew up in Key west and I havn't been down there in 5 years. I would hate to go without the family though. And I bet you guys would hate me lugging the kids around.

I will see if I can talk my hubby into letting me go alone. :)

If it's a GTG in ~~autumn~~ fall (learning to change my vocab), then there's a reasonable chance that myself and

chiqui will be in the area - depending on how quickly the visa gets approved - and I know I'd love to meet the local DPCers down there! :D I'll keep an eye on this thread...

Well, according to the official rules of shotgun calling, I think that you normally have to be in sight of the car to call shotgun.

Edit: I looked up the rules. Line of sight only applies after extended outdoors activities. Still, there are rules and I think that we all need to brush up on them. :)

I just want to go now. Key West is probably my favorite corner of the Carribean and the Keys Highway my favorite way to get there (little planes freak me out)! Have only been once on camera safari and that was back in the 35mm days.

I would be up for it, but it would need to be toward the early part of October. No one at work is allowed to take vacation in September due to a big move. Crap, I know, but I'd love to get down there to meet you guys. Hopefully we can put this together.
