Yeah, a 5.7 is a definite peak for me these days - nearly an insurmountable one. :-) I'm betting it doesn't hold for rollover, though. It'll be a 5.6something. |

| No angst to pedal. My shot entirely lacked dpc perfection, but it was fun and I had no expectations: possibly forfeited a chance to "learn" something with a "better" entry, what a dreary idea. Now if I could also do what Melethia does... |

I very much appreciate the vote of confidence, but sometimes I'm quite happy with middlin' scores if I really like the picture. I have a tendency to shoot stuff that's lacking in "wow" but I still like it. The shot I have in Bicycles is one of those. |

But I will say I REALLY enjoyed voting in this challenge. Took me two days, too. Bikes are one of my favorite subjects, so that may have had something to do with it. |

It was over 5.5, figured it would be around a 5 even. So with that I am pleased with the result. Already have my outtakes ready to explain to the commenters!

The shot is solid enough, but fairly boring. I had it figured for a 5.6 on account of the lack of outright coolness. Disappointed that it's down from 6.19 yesterday, though, boooo...

| 4.9ish. Then again, my actual involvement with bicycles these days is pretty minimal, so I can't say I put my heart and soul into this one and the score's pretty fair for the effort. Besides, now I will be delighted if I see a 5 in my next challenge! |

I know of Rockwell and know of only a limited number of his art that contains bicycles. To be honest, I have yet to see any image on the current challenge that is remotely close to the Rockwell genre.
I will let you know by the time I complete my third pass.

I do believe that if you take the time to review the Challenge Archives you might discover that most of the winning images fall within the latter of the catergories you allude to.
If your image is not doing as well as you had hoped, it could be that although you did indeed conduct a carefully considered study of the subject matter, your presentation was not strong enough.
If indeed this is the last time you are posting something like this last submission, then you are doing yourself a disservice, since you may never know the joy of having the public at large appreciate your art.
