I just pulled my "iffy" one and reworked my original shot. I like it better.

Yes - only problem is that I only know very few of the songs in the list (my age group is probably not the target audience) :-)

I just hope that the majority of the voters don't know the songs either...

Edited for typos

right - but I still worry because of the one I chose. I even talked bout it to a local, my age, and she had no idea. ROFL OH well... we all need a good laugh every now and then.

Phew, Silverscreen, at least I won't be alone in that!

No they don't. In 1962 London Bridge (of "falling down" fame) was deemed obsolete and sold to an American real estate developer, who reconstructed it in the desert at what is now Lake Havasu City, Arizona. What most people think of as "London Bridge" is actually "Tower bridge", and any image of it in this challenge gets a "1" from me as DNMC ;-)

While I'm on the other side of the world from London I'd point out that a replacement bridge was built and is called "London Bridge". It's not as nice looking as Tower Bridge but there is a bridge with that name. I think an automatic 1 may not be fair, but given I can't take a picture of London Bridge, giving those images 1's would only help mine ;)

Jazz standards??? Oh my absolute favorite. I'd be in on that for sure.

It's also a bit like saying "Oh you're from England. Do you know Fred Jones?"

Oh well... it's mostly entered for a laugh anyway. I guess there's something to be said for having your kids late. I knew almost every song and I'm 54. ha ha ha ha ha

This may give those in Arizona a leg up, as well, but there is still a London Bridge in London, England.

Originally posted by Southwark Council web page:

see also London Bridge: 2000 Years of a River Crossing. London Bridge: 2000 Years of a River Crossing, by Watson, Brigham & Dyson (London Museum of London Archaeology Service 2001).

But yes, it would not be good for anyone to shoot "Tower Bridge" for the challenge and label it "London Bridge."

Is it just me? And who is Rick Dee's anyway? Thanks for any pointers as to exactly what the 50 song titles are.

Yeah, we were just looking for the song titles that we'd done photos for and it's all changed!!!

Fine. Do it your way. Go compete against 350 people in "Portrait." I'll be having some fun, creatively adapting a song title to a great photo. ...

In response to fat Louie, if I can't relate to the challenge I don't force it because it will show in the work IMHO. But as to creativity how's this for ya:-)

Justin Timberlake made a move to WALK AWAY from Christina Aguilera as she cried "These HIPS DON'T LIE. There AIN'T NO OTHER MAN" at him. He said, "MY LOVE don't worry EVERYTIME WE TOUCH you drive me CRAZY. I am just going over to the GRILLZ to CHECK ON IT". As he approached the barbeque to check on the TEMPERATURE of the steaks Christina checked out his SEXYBACK. She got annoyed when she spotted the PROMISCUOUS GIRL NEXT DOOR sashay over to Justin. "Hey, baby WHEN YOU GONNA GIVE IT UP TO ME? How about we meet at the LONDON BRIDGE and I'LL SHOW YOU THE LIPS OF AN ANGEL," purred the girl next door. Justin replied, "Girl, even on a BAD DAY MY HUMPS would not touch the spoiled desserts you're offering. If I am going to be UNFAITHFUL it isn't going to be with the likes of you" Before she could respond to the insult, Christina came charging in screaming, "You little *BEEP* (edited out due to vulgar nature)I'm SO SICK and tired of *BEEP* like you hanging around my man. That's it! ME & U RIGHT HERE right now!" Christina raised her fists. The party stopped and a crowd gathered around to watch the fight. Justin tried to defuse the tension, "Hey Christina baby no need to be SAVIN' ME. Let's just go FAR AWAY where we can just DANCE, DANCE the night away." The Girl Next Door just looked at Christina and laughed, "Well look at MS. NEW BOOTY SHAKE THAT thing! Better send out an S.O.S honey because you'll need help." The fists started to fly. People cheered and bets were flying. Bets were RIDDIN' that Christina would win. The fight was in full swing. Hair was being pulled and bodice buttons threatened to pop like another 'wardrobe malfunction'. MARIO VAZQUEZ, famous paparazzi photographer, was right there to take a PHOTOGRAPH that would be published in the Star magazine the next day. The police showed up to break up the fight and told people to MOVE ALONG but not before the combatants were bloodied and blue. Justin pulled Christina close, "YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL. Baby, I don't want to BE WITHOUT YOU. I'll STICKWITU."

Whew! 34 out of 50 song titles - can anyone else do better?

I'd like to see someones rendition of this, ha.

Hmm...you could enter a nude under about half of these song titles.
