Yeah that tripped me out. I thought there were like 40-something yesterday, or even earlier today.

I took a few pictures of my subject, about 20, on monday and posted something that night. Well this evening I went over the 20 pics and so I unsubmitted the one I had, which I wasn't 100% happy with and submitted this other one. I hope this one gets me up in the rankings.

What a suprise to suddenly see 102 this morning. Oh and I'm kicking myself in the ass for swapping that picture. I showed it to a few people and they all say I should have kept the original. My votes are all down and the very few negative comments I've gotten wouldn't have been applicable to the first photograph.

So, lesson learned, if you post something and you get a hair up your you know what to change it during the 11th hour, DON'T. I'm going to be regretting this all week. Next week I'll post my original image and you folks can tell me which you think is better.

Hey, we now have 89 submissions. That's more than last week's challenge. I did finally get my own entry in by using some strong arm tactics on my camera shy son. You can easily put a guilt trip on a teenage boy on Mother's Day. Even so, I only got a half dozen pictures and my best one still isn't what I really wanted.

I for one just submitted my first photo to a challenge and fully expect to be clubbed and skinned as the beginner I am. But that's okay, I'm here to learn! :)

Actually I'm not thrilled with my submission but the best idea I had for a submission did not manifest itself as doable during the week. So I went with my second choice. Thanks in advance for all your thoughts and suggestions...

Perhaps the "This challenge submission ends on May 13" line is because the challenge ends at 12:01 am? Just a thought...

The caption at the top says there are less than 2 days left in the competition. Yes, this is longer than normal. I wonder if the guys took the day off for Mother's day or maybe this is an input error.

Is it my imagination, or is this challenge longer than normal. I was under the impression that the challenge ended on Sunday night, midnight. This challenge submission ends on May 13... Monday.

I suffer from chronic procrastination, so I'll be taking my shot tomorrow, have 3 different subjects in mind, not yet sure which one I'm gonna go with though. Probably will end up taking around 50 shots, unless I get lucky and my camera makes one of the first ones look good ; )

OK, I'm in. I got an idea and took some photos. I kind of like it. We'll see if anyone else does.

Yeah, similar story here - I took a handful of test shots, then a whole load of 'real' shots, yet ended up going with one of the tests... :o)

i like your ideas hokie :).
i think that some people are just kinda nervous about how literally the people voting on these challenges seem to want to interpret the photos. so you wanna do this totally blockbuster literal interpretation, cuz nothing else will 'do', if you know what I mean .. .

well, I say: whatever pic you wanna take, people, cliche or not imperfect or not, subtle or not, just take it and let the chips fall where they may! who cares about placing and the 'i dont get it comments'? the good comments more than make up for it. anyway, it's more fun to have a pic in the challenge than not, isn't it, even if not everyone gets it? :)

I'm sorry to hear that yellowpeep. I'm glad you didn't choose to photograph the fish after it died. Controversy just doesn't go over too well around here.

Thanks for the condolences ya'll. Sweet Pea was 7 years old and that's pretty old for a parakeet.

I just wish my parakeet didn't die in January. She loved to hang upside down and play with her bell.

Aw, shortredneck, I had one of those parakeets too. She loved hanging upside down. My fish died last week and I considered photographing it floating upside down at the top of the tank, but I thought it might be too disrespectful. ;( RIP Spot

Guys,...I have so many upside down ideas I can give them away. My mind is exploding with ideas but not the time to do them all.

Here's a cool one.

You know how everyone is saying that the jungle gym iwth a kid handing upside down is cliche?

How about having a concert Violinist hanging upside on a jungle gym playing a violin? Or any number of unusual subjects hanging upside down on a jungle gym? How about a WHOLE challnege of jungle gym photos and the funniest one wins? Talking about a cliche moved to the nth degree.

I have a cockatoo that hangs upside down and flares her feathers and sings. I could do a whole series on her.

How about a bunch of pants hanging upside down on a clothesline in the morning sun?

How a bout a person holding a sex manual upside down looking at the picture sorta funny?

I am so excited about this challenge. I got a whole series of shots I am gonna shoot around my subject (that I did not mention inany of the above. :-)

aww, poor thing! we used to have parakeets when i was little until my sister and i decided that we felt sorry fro them and LET THEM GO...whoo did we get in trouble! needless to say I haven't had a bird since! but that would have been perfect for this challenge, plus they are so pretty.

i'm in the same boat. i want something dramatic, like you say. i don't want to just take a picture of someone hanging upside down at a playground, lol. I want something that's not norrmally upside down - something like a building or a car. it would be nice if i would have time to set up a room in my house so that it looks like we're sitting ont the ceiling, with the lamps sticking up, and whatnot.

hehe--ironically, i actually thought of all of these ideas myself! but then i just decided that i was too tired to rearrange my whole house, :) especially after all the work i put into the last challenge! so, i feel lame, but i don't even know if i'll submit this week...

Whaa......? I'd have to see a prize first, like a bag of jelly beans, before I'd go THAT far!

but even a bat or a trapeze artist would be cool, as would a gymnast.

i'm definintely not going to go for any kind of metaphorical interpretation, or any pictures of the letter 8 or O. we've seen what happens when you do that! :P)

I've come up with several ideas, but most of them are not in reach for me. For example, a stunt plane flying upside down or something like that. Just don't know where to find those. :) I'm still thinking... have a few ideas to play with, just trying to figure out where I can get the shots.... Hope to submit something for the first time, but may not be able to get the shot I'm thinking of... :(

Thanks for the encouragement, I guess I will keep it unless something stands out at me this weekend.

I have been meaning to submit something the past 4 challenges but I have not had the time. I just want to submit a photo, all these challenges I know I could of come up with something.

Not expecting much on this one, its possibly the toughest challenge since transitions, I signed on back when Curves was active.
