you can't use on on that lens - theoretically. So says canon as it makes the base aperture too small for AF.
YOu lose one stop with a 1.4tc and 2 stops with a 2x TC conveter.
Your 300D won't focus automatically.
you'll also lose image quality.
see if you can borrow one to try before you buy.

Get a Sigma teleconverter.

I am looking to buy a teleconverter for my 80-400 Sigma lens (for canon) and wanted to make sure I got one that worked well with it. Anyone have any recommendations or experience with teleconveters?
