Okay, you twisted my arm, here's another. Another reason not to throw out any old shots!

Composite or collage? Sounds like a good idea but I also think it might be a nightmare to validate.

edit: They have programs? Now you tell me...just put together a calendar all by hand.

Caityln: Dpc does a great job on oversize prints. Also, I believe, Sam's club can print 11 by 17...don't quote me....
I use an HP 8750 for up to 13 by 19's.

Great idea for a challenge - harder for SC to validate entires though

For people with a decent internet connection, it wouldn't be that bad. For those of us with ultra-slow dial-up, validation could be a verrrry slow process.

Here's a couple of mine, still learning how to do it but it is fun and addicting. The Amsterdam one I'm going to have printed out poster size, along with "Faces of Amsterdam", "Coffeeshops of Amsterdam" and "Markets of Amsterdam" for a big wall we have.

All the images displayed were wonderful. love the themes, and the photography.

The closest we've come in DPC is the Triptych Challenge

"A triptych is a work of art which is divided into three sections and then hinged or connected. Create an entry consisting of three panels that tells a story or illustrates a concept or object. Your panels can be made up of one photo or up to three separate photos.
Extra Rules
"You may use up to three photographs for this challenge. However, all other rules still apply."

We never had that Challenge again, which means either it was a ton of work to validate, or nobody thought of it.

But (and I didn't even enter my images) it was a whole bunch of fun to work out the details and play with the theme.

This was my first time in trying anything like "triptych" and "collages" as well, during the "30 Day of Pets". and the "30 Days of Macros"......

Thank you for answering my post, Judi.

I was wondering who any of you use for printing the oversized Collages?

Thanks

I actually do these all the time... I just grabbed a bunch and reduced the size (some of them by too much), just to give a sampling of various collages I've done:

"Collage"..... A combinination of a collection of many photograph images, as many as one liked, to enhance the final image.

Definately have to be "Advanced Editing", with all images taken in that week, re a theme maybe.....

I love to see this one happen, and what do others think of this idea..... see samples below;

Just added another collage to this list....

This is the only one I've ever done. I had this printed in poster size 20x30. It came out really well. It was done by hand in PS7. I love the look of collage's, but it really is hard to get the effects you want by hand. Someday, when I can afford it, I'm going to get one of the great programs that do it all for you!

B.U.M.P.I.N.G. Come on..... surely some of you have a collage tucked away in your portfolio, as examples for us to see.....

sherpet - Ooops....sorry...I didn't see that.
Caitlyn - I use PS CS2 for all my work. Mostly it is done by hand.

Just curious, what programs do each of you use to construct your collages? I recently purchased the Wondershare Collage, had an awful time getting through to the company but finally got it up and working, just haven't had time to really use it yet. What other options are out there? Where do you get them printed? I also have the Quark program which will allow me to save a finished document in the eps or pdf formats.
