No, no, no. This IS the private thread. You can feel free to discuss ideas, strategy, and tactics here in total confidentiality. Nobody's listening. Go ahead, get it out. You'll feel better if you do. Here, have a glass of wine and sit back and tell us all about it. :)

i don't know if you guys checked our group for the dpl , but we are up against some stiff competition.

now the good news is that all the teams average are within 0.1 point range from ours, which means we are not facing super-tough teams, so depending on how we'll perform we have a good chance to make it to tha playoffs, we should shoot for first place so that we can get a weaker team in the first round in the playoffs.

cheers,

Thanks for the nice comment.. per your suggestion, here are some revisions. The font is the only one that I feel *works* for this particular graphic..

I work in advertising and that logo is incredible. If I had to offer something, Maybe a different font size or a space to better seperate the team and D50 (it looks like DSO).

oh... I just saw your note at the end of your post. Color could do it too.

Im curious why this hasnt been moved into the DPL forum like the rest?
05/11/2007 08:07:42 PM · #16
since D200 used a similar logo, how about this one?

This one has the exact number of girls and guys on the team..

and keep in mind I can edit it, change the D50 to black or something..

P.S. that is if you are not permitted to use flash. :) f/2.8 lens should be enough.

*nods* From what I've seen, most people use ISO 800 f2.8 with varying shutter speeds. I'm hoping there'd be decent light setup. I am new to Tulsa and haven't been to any of the clubs here so I have no idea what to expect. On the upside, I'd go with them to pick up a press pass earlier that afternoon, so I'd be able to have a peek then and play with the settings some before I were to get started.

Thanks, karinn!

Wow! That is phenomenal! No fill flash or anything??

Here is one of my live music shots.. and all the details..
I strongly recommend that you don't use iso 1600 because the noise is so much there... but on the other hand you could always convert the images to BW and let the noise have the main role.

Okies kids...I have a question...Lil off topic. :oP

I have a band who is wanting me to shoot at one of their shows. Now then...That said, I have never taken live band shots and I haven't yet commited...I know I'd need to use a high ISO, but I'm wondering if any of you have shot such events, and if so, what kind of settings you used? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :o)
