I had made my props for the "At Rest" challenge, but never got the time to shoot it. My idea: I had created a single sheet of music titled "Silence of the Brass." The music was nothing but whole rests. Across this sheet of music I was going to lay my cornet. Unfortunately, I never got further than creating the sheet music.

I hear you!!! Also the stance that "I have a great idea, but no rain, strategicly placed puddles near a bus stop, or actors" to be able to make it so!

A shot of the Golden Gate Bridge? Not gold but an orange/red mix. Would it be ironic.

Still might shoot it, but working 6 of 7 of the days, person on oxygen smoking out front of a hospital. Actually should have done that for trends. There is always a patient in front of the hospital smoking, in a wheelchair, and someone pushing their IV poles for them. Obviously, they don't let them take out oxygen...cuz we all know what happens there, right? (C:

I finally had an idea but didn't have time to execute it: Someone cutting himself while working on a sign that reads "SAFETY FIRST". A lot of possible variations here: using a router to make a wooden sign without wearing eye protection or falling off a ladder while hanging the sign.

I had two irony ideas that never got to photography.

1) a dear john letter, leaving for lack of commitment and an engagement ring in a box.

2) 6 dice all showing 1's and a yahtzee game with both the 1's and the yahtzee crossed out.

:) I didn't enter this challenge because I thought it would be very difficult to convey Irony in a convincing way. I just looked through the thumbnail pics and I did notice one that right off the bat perfectly conveys Irony and appears to be well done. I think the most creative photographers at DPC will be known after this challenge, and you'll see a larger then normal range of scores (very high to very low) in this one.

There are so few photographs that honestly convey the true meaning of irony. Maybe I am just too sensitive because I am getting comments that state my photo does not meet the challenge (which in its self is one of the base meanings of irony, the rhetorical kind) when it 100% does!

Ok, enough lecturing, I completely love this place...not said in an ironic way.
