I agree, however I don't think this is an issue the average computer user would notice, and therefore it might not be as known a problem as i.e. a hot battery. I've only had good experiences with dell before and with the recent info that it's fixed with the latest firmware I think it should be quite safe to get this monitor now.

Thanks again :)

Remember, this is the internet ... everyone is an expert or has conclusive proof of any and all sides of any story. When it comes to computer ... well some love Dell others have decided to be the forever distructive force trying to put them down. If they were "generally" bad how come they sell more than anyother computer company. They get bad publicity for other manufacturer errors i.e. hot batteries made by Sony and same battery sold to a big part of the workwide laptop manufacturers. Just like Microsoft, it's easy to bad mouth sucess, especially if it was self made and not inherited. Good going Micheal Dell and Bill Gates, you proved that anyone can be sucessful if they want to.

Thanks :)

I also just discovered a thread on www.flatpanels.dk where a moderator who has done a recent review of the monitor says he didn't see any signs of banding at all. would be nice if others could back up this statement ;)

my questions are still open for comments :)

here

I don't own this one, but I've looked at reviews at cnet, and it seems that there are posts claiming that Dell has fixed the banding issue.

Hi,

I am looking into getting a new LCD-monitor and I've heard lots of people recommending the Dell 2007WFP. However I've also seen several forum-posts regarding color banding on both the 2007WFP and the 2407WFP. Does anyone know if Dell has gotten this fixed by now, or can I still expect to have banding problems if I order one now?

I must say I'm really tempted to get one as they are running a 25% discount right now, but it's only for two more days. They also had discounts on several other monitors recently, and some have said that this is dells attempt to get rid of their last stock of problem monitors.

For those of you who have seen a recent dell lcd with banding problems, is it really apparent or do you have to focus hard to spot it?

Hope i didn't divert the attention too much from my first question.. this looks like an awsome budget monitor for photo editing, especially with the discount.. I appreciate all inputs on any of my questions, or the subject in general :)

Thanks,
John
