I got that same EXACT (to the word and score) comment from a bag head.

That comment appears to have simply been cut and pasted on 18 photos, with the only variation being that the fist half didn't have the "thus not soft" added on.

You gotta wonder how accurate this voter's evaluation of each photo was it seems so little effort was put forth. What's the point of commenting or even voting?

I went to bed... but, yes it was. After rollover I dropped 11 votes and my score jumped back up... (if you can call it that).

Man, it's great. Unfortunately it looks like the photos I have in subjectless and silhouette are going to pull my average way back down.

I got 4 votes in the past 10 minutes that must have all been 1's because my score is dropping like a rock! And, it wasn't good to begin with!

Likely going to just miss my own personal Top 10 (only important to the few of us who use 10 across on our profiles. ;)).

Maybe with a sizable bump....

So where do I stand against my new arch nemesis?

Considering the comments I got, the final score will be low. I haven't kept track, but I also must remember that I was going without any experience on this one. It was a challenge that caused me to try something, and it didn't really end very positively. But that is okay. It was a learning experience and hopefully I will be able to apply many of the techniques that others receive in their comments. That is the beauty. Even though my comments all only said oof and did not give me any feedback on getting better images, I can look at those of you who did receive ways to improve, and learn to apply it. Luck to all, it was fun, now onward and upward.

Point taken. I'll back off. I might have seemed louder than I meant to with my bold type. I know that sometimes it seems "more hassle than it's worth", but I don't think that this is the case. Overall, comments are precious and appreciated. PLEASE don't let my quick little rant dissuade you from commenting.

'The other one' is me. Although I have no idea which shot is yours, as you will have seen throughout this thread I have repeatedly stated any comment I have left is Just my opinion. One lesson learn't in voting and commenting on this challenge for me is to take advice from the bagheads and not show myself till the end of the challenge. It's sure been more hassle than it was worth.

Yep, me too... but since I'm scoring less than a 5, guess I can't complain.

Nice composition and colours but for me this is too sharp to be 'soft focus'

Shallow depth of field but dead on focus thus not "soft". Nice Shot though - 5

YOU'RE KILLING ME!!! I want to tell these voters to look closer and think about how they would vote on my SOFT FOCUSED shot if it was supposed to be a regular challenge. I'd be getting dinged for not being sharp enough.

This is a Soft Focus challenge, NOT OUT OF FOCUS CHALLENGE!!!

It seems that we'll have to wait until after the challenge for everybody to see the SHARP, FOCUSED version of the same shot that I've already posted in the Photographer's Comments section of the entry.

But for now it's driving me crazy to know that my entry is getting knocked down for supposedly not being soft focus.
