Point a camera, you've got a subject. In another thread someone complained that the entries had titles. Couldn't figure that one out. Only about 14 out of 241 didn't have titles.

There are some great photos, a lot of average photos, and some lousy photos. There are a lot of sunsets and a lot of flowers. So all in all, there's the usual shots here. Guess I'm not seeing the inherent magic in the challenge idea. Frankly I think its only merit was being 'novel'. If you point your camera at something, you've got a subject. Next.

I've voted on 17% so far and I have to say it's a LOVELY challenge, to my eyes anyway. It's refreshing to see so many "mood pieces", so many purely emotional images, as a change from the regular diet :-)

I am in, hopefully I got the right concept going here, My take on this challenge is a photo that has alot going on, perhaps 4 or 5 different things that draw your eye verses the one subject in the center of the photo... hopefully I nailed this puppy on the head!.... If not then I shall go down in flames once again.

Ah, screw it. I'm out. I am a average score protecting chicken. There, I've said it.

You put that image back in there young man! Right now.

Or I *will* turn this car around.

So my 9.2 should be safe for a yellow?

I am in, but only by a accident, as this image was in the camera, after a bad day out, trying to get something for a "silhouette" challenge, and everything went wrong, except for this mistake.

I hope it is suitable for this challenge, and guess you will let me know after the voting starts. Please, pretty please, no "DNMC", as I worked really hard on this one. That a 'joke', as it really was a beautiful 'accident'.

Heh, most all of my photo's are "soft focus" except the one I have in "soft focus". I've also heard I have "no subject" more times than I can count. Of course, this won't be one of those times! Deb, I only wish I could get scores like yours. I'm in at number 200 and I predict a 4.5. Heh!

The fat man is in at #201.

All fear the fat man's subjectless photo, fear and vote accordingly. Woe shall follow the sub-9 voters.

You are warned.

I've just submitted mine. Could this be my first ribbon? Brown, that is.

I think a truly "subjectless" picture is pretty insane. Even a picture that is a black frame can be said to have a sugject. The black is the subject, and the only one.

However, what I really interpret the description as having meant to say "no definable primary subject.

Basically, if you can't look at a photo and say "it's about a _____", even if you can look at it and say "______ is the point of interest", then it has no subject.

But if you can look at a photo, say "it has no obvious point of interest", even if you can say "it's about a _____", then it can also be interpreted to have no subject.

Broken down even further:
A point of interest is not necessarily a subject, and a subject is not necessarily a point of interest.

So voting on this one is going to be a big hairy pain in the patootwa. I predict that very few people will be happy with their scores since the images that qualify under the different interpretations are of two very different varieties.
