Something that might be even cooler is a "Featured Favorite". Open the field to any photo with a favorite on it and you include not only the ribbons but great portfolio and challenge photos that might have otherwise been overlooked.

By the way, I still like the other idea of having text version of the rest 7 of the first ten photos.
I think the first 10 out of 300 (sometimes more) is a huge success and they all should be up front someplace :)

What a "WONDERDFUL" idea, as I would love to see this "IDEA" actually happen.
My only hope is, that I also would love to win a ribbon myself one day, so that it could then happen to me.

| Yeah, that would be cool to have. Have a thumbnail, the title, what challenge it was in and the date it won a ribbon, would be a cool flashback to see the old ribbons as I am sure I haven´t seen them all, having "only" been here just under 2 years. |

I think that on the left of the front page, there could be a small place for a previous ribonning pic.
The pic would be randomly choosed on each front page load.
Benefits:
*would allow to (re)discover previous ribonners from old challenges
*in case of results recalculation, new (requalified) ribonners would have their pic occasionnaly displayed on front page.
Drawback:
*additionnal load on the server |
