Considered entering this. Glad I went with my final choice.

I had a couple of outtakes, trying to decide what to enter...

Ultimately I decided on this one:

I had a feeling it wouldn't be a high-scoring pic, because it's definitely not your typical DPC shot. I thoroughly loved it so I had to enter it anyway. I received a lot of great comments as well as three faves, so I can't complain in the least. I was so pleased that others appreciated what I was depicting in the image. :)

Entered until I realized it was a basic challenge:

Outakes

I was really trying to get that star on its neck. I preferred the light ones for the colours, but the black for the contrast and the star.

Plus you can see all my sensor dust on the light ones!!

One that I did for the challenge but had already entered the Urban Myth challenge - then realised I could only enter one (being an open challenge)

This isn't an outtake, but thought I'd stick it here rather than take up space somewhere else.

Here's the resized-only version of my red ribbon shot. I'm still wondering if I screwed it up in Photoshop. Cropping the black ede of the aquarium is the only thing I'm sure that improved it.

Original on the left, submission on the right:

edit: ..... and yes, I did curse those spots, but couldn't edit them out as it was a basic challenge.
