I had exactly the same thoughts with my eclectus. I have a few pics of birds, but as yet none of my own pet bird - probably the same problem... he's not interested in posing - just wants a good scratch and would love nothing more than to hang upside down off the camera strap! Birds in the wild are great, but take away their wild inhibition and focus their intelligance in a human environment and they are simply amazing creatures. I had no idea of the extent of animal intelligence and cognitive capacity until I lived with a bird. These pictures are a great tribute to these wonderful and diverse creations.

Here are a few of my own...

I love birds too - all kinds. I don't have that many shots of them though. Hmmm... I'll have to remedy that!

LOL! They are such personable little birds. Bet he could be trained to snap the shutter, too!

Hmmmmm think I could teach Lexi that? lol

Somewhere at home I have a nice big cropped one but this is all I could find here at work. Wish I could shoot more of these.

The little Hawk that hangs out in my back yard seems to have no trepidation about the camera, but is rather defiant.

Watched the sharp shinned hawk take out the goldfinch then sit on that branch and eat it. Shot through the window, zoom lens, handheld on a rainy day.

Not a good shot, but he was showing his colors.
