If we're making up our own quotes now, my most often used one is:

"drat!"

To capture the essence in a single photograph is absurd. The essence is captured while photographing.

I just made that up.(I hope nobody else said that):)

It's not so much a good quote on photography, but an amusing anecdote my brother saw on a photography shop window: "Hang the family, shoot the wife and blame the kids!"

When I was in my printers office the other day, they have a poster up with the quote

"Voyeur: you capture light, the entrantress, and bend her to your likeness"

I loved it! Don't know who wrote it though - anyone heard it?
