Don't follow my mistake and take shots for both challenges(in basic editing I mean).

It would have been a unique entry for the challenge, and probably scored very well. I certainly like it. You might get a few low votes from some people if they thought the idea was borrowed, though.

Shannon, thanks so much for the link! I've never heard of Chema Madoz before, and I had such a blast going through his photos now. Wow, what a creative mind!

Interesting, what makes the original Chema (imo) is the space around the thread, as if the drops of water were picked up by the needle.

No doubt. As I said, I like the photo, but some people might not appreciate that such a unique idea wasn't yours.

I forgot to submit my adjusted version of my picture. I feel stupid.

To make good photos and have fun with it. But I have some goals i want to achieve here on DPC and I think that entering the pic in the Blue challenge would've helped more. :)

Why do you think you made a mistake?
Just because your choice right now isn't scoring well?

I suppose it's a question about what's important to you. If you're into taking good pictures, maybe this reminder might help:

Just because it does well with DPC voters, doesn't mean it's a good photograph. Just because it doesn't do well with DPC voters, doesn't mean that it's not a good photograph.

So...what's important to you?

I'm keeping the idea maybe for a future challenge. ARGH..... >:(

Very original take on the concept...I would have favored a more powerful blue, but that's just me. Nice shot.

You know, that blue shot is pretty cool. It's an interesting take on water drops, different from a lot we see here.

Very nice potential top ten blue entry - hard to say though - hindsight is 20/20. Here's hopin' for a strong finish in the much less crowded Romance challenge. :)

Now I feel bad for not choosing Blue :(
02/01/2006 02:36:13 AM · #19
I like it quite a lot!
I would have rated it higher!
02/01/2006 02:27:15 AM · #20
I like it without the wire.

Like never before I prepared for both 'Romance' and 'Blue2' challenges and in the last moment I decided to enter the first one. Big mistake! But, what's done is done. Anyway I just want some onest opinions on the photo I made for Blue2.

Thanks, George.

Oh, and here is the link.
