Hmm i guess its a matter of personal taste. My friend (who's also a chef) always serves his Kiwi unpeeled. Its really well received here, as it gives more texture to the presentation. Oh well ;)

As for the Veg oil on fruits, thanks! that's a very good tip!

My only comment is about the background which are very busy and distracting in spite of the narrow DOF.

I eould stay away from icing sugar..I got alot of negative comments about that on mine. If you can not temper your chocolate for your berries...rub them with a bit of veg oil to give them some shine, not sooo flat looking :(( Plus as a chef, its driving me nuts...Peel those damn Kiwis!!! :))

haahahah

yeah, lots of 'harsh lighting' comments on my entry as well.

The problem was, i was trying to recreate natural lighting... at 9pm.. and instead of using a softbox, i ended up using an umbrella with a spotlight.

Except for the shortcake, which was done with the softbox and reflector. Lots better actually.

I think the presentation on all of the dishes is excellent, very professional. If I were to change anything I'd say the lighting seems just a tad harsh, maybe soften and warm it up just a little bit.

ok, now I'll take the short cake please :)
