got a little bump going today, last day is always like that. I'm happy to know my work is pleasing rather then displeasing, really. Still not in the 7.xxx for a top10 tho.

Doh! ;)

I tried to shoot something rather simple, since I am a chef, and didnt want to get votes based on the fact that my food looked more professional rather then the photo...
Now I am sitting at a sorry 5.5 and really wishing I would have shot something else....
Regrets, I've had few....:)

Slowly climbing back up... If I can finish with a 5.8ish I'l be pretty satisfied, as that will probably be good enough to get in the top 20

Good idea--easy too, since we were encouraged to post the recipes with the photos....

I agree there are some wonderful shots in this challenge worthy of magazines. I really enjoyed it because it made me do something "new".

One of my lowest scores in a while. Comments mainly on my DOF. I totally agree now that I've had a chance to look at it. I cooked mine Tues. evening, shot the photo and submitted without much thought or 2nd look. The picture may not be great but the food was awesome. We had left overs tonight and it was even better tonight. :)

BTW There are some fantastic shot in this challenge. Some should be in a major cooking magazine or cookbook. Maybe we should do a DPC cookbook.

Back up to a 5.1. Course it seems the people voting so far are either newer to the forum, or aren't looking for the same things the pros are lol.

Glanced around at the food entries and WOW what a burst of color I got!!! LOL Thought I was in the wrong challenge!! Everything looked so yummy! It will be difficult to pick winners here because they all look so great!

Started around 6.33 last night and slid throughout the day... Off with the scores for the rest of the week since the top score will probably be between a 7.5 and 8...

Now... Roads and/or Signs.

Funny thing is I didn't think about the pun until after I hit submit. Must have been Freudian. lol

I'm not bitter by any means, so I hope it doesn't come across that way. The comments are what I cherish more than the actual score, but I would like for them to be helpful within the requirements of the particular challenge. I'd like to PM those who asked questions or said they didn't like a certain part of the photo to ask what their suggestions are--is this a widely accepted practice on DPC?
I know my photo would have looked better if I were able to clone one aspect out, but it's basic editing, so I can't.
Any suggestions?

You could tell them just that. You could also consider a it a comment on your composition. When I look at composition I ask myself, "Is there anything there that shouldn't be or is anything missing?" Could you have removed those issues before taking your shot? Just food for thought.

In some cases PMing a commentor can be beneficial. It's not frowned upon.

well so much for that lol. now I'm down to a 4.8. I at least saw 5.0 for once. That's encouraging lmao
