Mine is also going up!!! and is now in a very happy and comfortable position... OMG... ribbons come to MEEE!!!! this would be a nice way to start the year ;).
Im not telling you my actual score ;)... is it a blue? (I hope because I have only seen yellow ribbons) |

I appreciate that. Mines been holding steady pretty much all week. Woke up to a high for the week of 5.7440 this morning and as of the last update I'm down to 5.6618... go figure :-/

hi, yea thanks for encouraging words ... i know i'm not alone, but it's surely interesting to make good photos considering lack of time for such a nice hobby, and when making last minute entry i'm sure the score will be within bottom 5% part :-)
ah, never mind ... it's fun. right ?
there are good times and bad times ...

gooc, your overall stats are nearly identical to mine (9 submissions with around 4.7 something overall vote received). My first goal at DCP is to start shooting above average photos on a regular basis. I define "above average" as any score above 5.0 since 5.0 to me should be the averge score. The last submission I made I was excited about thinking I finally have another shot that is SURE to score over 5.0 and it got a 4.9! What's worse is that it placed 142 out of 149 so DPC'ers only thought 7 other photos were worse than mine! Wow, what a humbling experience. My current "Pattern" score is running lower than that at 4.8+ so I wonder how bad that will be. My last contest says I was in the bottom 5% of photos taken (the worst ever). So, don't get discouraged. You're not alone in the quest to hit the 5.0 mark.

I really thought this one would at least score 5.6 or better.I must say DPC runs through trends I can't quite predict.
My averages have been all over the board lately. But, maybe that's because I'm experimenting with different styles... who knows?

I love the comments, they've been really helpful. Pleased to say that all commenters have been very positive and 6 of the 8 gave the exact same constructive criticism regarding my cropping. My choice was intentional, but now that I consider the consensus and think about it, I tend to agree.

for my oops-ii i got lot of comments saying this is not OOPS, well the challenge descreption says 'photograph something gone wrong', now the image is definitely not oops but fits the challenge descreption.
some people do not see anything beyond challenge title, some take the decreption too seriously.
The problem is we can not argue with voters and hence 4.5 scores.

I took a long shot on this one. I am getting lovely comments as people love the photo itself, but dont think it fits the challenge well. I may be in agreement, but just wanted to step out of the box. Stepping out of the box is a 4.5..LOL..just so those that are thinking of doing the same are aware.
I may still go outside the box. I love competition, but I also strive to be different. I guess I just have to work on that "different" aspect being more appealing.
