Well I didn't enter a whole lot - only 20 challenges - but my average score for 2005, counting the current free study is roughly 6.35 (not bothering to account for variation in votes between challenges).
In a grand total of five challenges in 2004 my average was only 5.63 (or thereabouts)... but I think the improvement is probably confounded a little by the fact that all of those shots were taken with a relatively crappy point and shoot.

Don't short change yourself faidio, you really have a 5.967!
You can't add the score of each challenge and divide it by the number of challenges because each challenge have different amount of votes.
Over your last 7 challenges you have the following
Votes: 1771
Total Score: 10568
Avg Score: 5.967 |
With the current Free Study score, I will end up with a yearly average of over 6+ :)

My math is failing...DPC says i entered 56 challenges, plus 2 I have entered but not completed, so 58 total. At the end of 04 i had entered 26, so that means 30 completed ones for 2005.
I have only 27 scores...there is a DQ in there someplace, and i don't know if it counts as an entered challenge...but the numbers are still off.
Anyway, my average is 5.226 for 2005. I am happy with that as it is up from last year, and over teh past 10 challenges i am averaging 5.462 - a real nice improvement. And i am more consistent of late as well.
My percentage finish is discouraging...46.4%. I was hoping to be above 50, but alas, not. Over my last 10 though, 58.7%.

2005: 5.918, 62 favourites, 73.8 percentile average (18 challenges)
2004: 6.130, 95 favourites, 80.4 percentile average (26 challenges)
2003: 5.767, 23 favourites, 69.4 percentile average (18 challenges)
Looks like I`m regressing :( That's a huge 0.212 drop from 2004 to 2005.
The drop in my average score from 2004 to 2005 doesn't really reflect that my shots were worse. I think it just says that the caliber of images submitted has gone up, which reflects my lower percentile score in 2005 when compared 2004.
I didn't score once in the top-10 in 2005 outside of my blue ribbon.

I entered the free study. I don't usually enter challenges. If I shoot, it's for income.

I see you've been around for over 2 years and never entered a challenge, (well one), and I was curious as to why.
It's not the lack of decent equipment thats for sure.

I thought the idea of the site was to help you improve as a photographer by "challenging" you to photograph things you ordinarily wouldn't.
