When I saw patrinus' entry in "Single Lightsource II", I had this idea for a challenge. Maybe it's not an original notion, so forgive me if someone else has suggested it.

Recreate a famous work of art, be it a drawing, a painting or a sculpture. Don't photograph the artwork itself (that's against the rules), just use the artwork as the inspiration for a photograph. Your title should be the name of the artist and the title of the artwork (i.e. DaVinci's Mona Lisa or Michaelangelo's David).

I would really enjoy that challenge! Don't know if it's already been suggested either but great idea.

I think this would be fun, you could bring an old style painting and do a modern interpretation.

This is one of my fav's - Great mixture of real art and photography (shame I cannot draw two lines to save myself but I liked the idea anyway).

Larry, we must have a psyhic connection going here. Not only did I have the same idea, but you used almost the same wording I would of used.
I was, however, waiting until I would of had a chance to enter myself, but he who hesitates is lost.

I have seen quite a number of photos during the challenges that evoke the feeling of classical artworks, Monet's Impressionism, Flemish portraits, and English pastorials.

I think it would be really fun.

And I don't know if anyone but me watches this show, but on America's Next Top Model last week, that was the theme of their shoot, to recreate old classic paintings with a modern feel.
