After the votes were all in and all those 1's were taken away, I managed another highest score. :) 5.118! Woot!

This was another last-minute job. I taped a piece of paper to the florescent light in the kitchen, taped the stem of the feather to the paper and shot about 8-10 pics. This was the best of the bunch. Unfortunately, neat image took out too much of the detail, so I had to leave it grainy. Oh well, some liked it, some didn't. :)

Hi All,

Be happy with your results because i think i m worst...
I actually created a winning picture but bcos my laptop is of high res, there is an area that does not shown out easily on my laptop so i did not notice it... i guess those who voted for my creations are also using hi res and they all voted high for my pic... however i think i have miss alot of the voters who are seeing the unintended patchy area on the top left.. ;-/

And i only notice after submitting... my votes gradually ascending from a 3 to now 4.7! which is encouraging with those 8 wonderful comments too.. i know i will not be having a good position this time... but i will repost my actual plain white creation if possible after the contest ;-)

I don't think the difficulty is the subject..it's the WAY a subject is done.

The real challenge is to take a simple (in this case common) subject and make it interesting or take a risky chance with it.

Every subject worth photographing has been done so many times there is nothing unique left..only the approach is unique.

Don't punish photographers for their subjects, request the photographer to bring their perspective to the photo, even at a risk of not being "popular".

Also, remember, this site is a learning site. You may have seen a million sunsets but for some photographers, this is their first one. Judge their execution, not subject matter. :-)
