Even though Labine had pitched a complete-game shutout in the previous playoff game? Wow! Talk about a rubber arm!

OK, another baseball trivia question. Eddie Mathews played for 2 world series winning teams. Everybody knows one of those teams; the trivia question is what was the other team?

From what my grandfather always told me, he was still warming up when the homerun was hit.

I think one was Carl Erskine..........I will take a real wild guess and guess Preacher Roe for the other.

I thought Shea Stadium was in Queens, and Yankee Stadium is definitely in the Bronx. Just because they use the term "New York" in their name doesn't mean they won for the same city or the same fans. As I recall, the USPS reserves the term "New York, NY" to Manhatten.

Neither will an Angels title this year confer championship status on the City of of Los Angeles. In fact, given the history of perpetual Yankee success, I was surprised they didn't name themselves The New York Angels of Anaheim.

How about four?

New York Giants, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Brooklyn Dodgers.

That's three even if you consider Brooklyn and New York two different cities.

Bingo.

Well, I grew up near the 49'th parallel and that's pretty close to the imaginary and increasingly ironic line that differentiates US from Canucklebrand Dirt straight across. Checking my mental recollection of the US map, it looks like Chicago is pretty close to the 45'th parallel and that's equidistant to the equator and the north pole. Of course, that's if you consider the geographical, not magnetic. The magnetic pole moves around a fair bit and I believe it is a little closer to 45 degrees north than the equator, so would provide a different split for the difference.

The clock is going to intersect around 3:17 or 3:18 I can't really be bothered to count seconds. The reason is that by the time the minute hand has moved to the 15, the hour hand should have moved 25% of the way to the 4. 25% of 5 = 1.25. That puts the Hour hand at 3:16:15. Each minute, the hour hand will move 12% of one minute, or 7.2 seconds. For the minute hand to move 1 minute, 15 seconds, you will have to add 9 seconds to the hour hand. That brings you to 3:16:24. But you're still a little short because the hour hand has now moved 9 seconds farther, which is 1.25 seconds farther. This is when you need to choose between using a formula and just guessing within 2 seconds.

Assuming the clock advances seconds on the second, and assuming that the minute hand is accurately tied either to an internal or external second regulator, the analog minute hand should meet the analog hour hand at exactly 3:16:25.26####

That's just a guess from my head without using formulas. Should be pretty close.

equator? not really sure where it is in terms of surrounding countries:(

At what time do the 2 hands of a clock come together after 3:00?

And here's one that's easier than you might think:

Which is closer to Chicago, the Equator or the North Pole?

Rams, Raiders and Chargers? For LA?

You may be correct but I don't think so. When did the Chargers play in LA? And when did they win a championship? Those are not the three I was thinking of.

The Chargers were originally owned by Barron Hilton and played in LA for a couple of years. Google shows me they did not win the AFL Championship until after they moved, however.

Bingo!!! And Mays, who was a 20-year-old rookie at the time, was supposedly terrified at the prospect of having to come to bat in such a crucial situation.
